CM 1964-05-05STATE OF TEXAS, COUNTY OF DALLAS The Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, convened on this 5th day of May, 1964, in a special meeting called by the Mayor, with the following members present to wit: W. T. Cozby, Mayor B. J. Harwell, Councilman J. R. McDonald, Councilman C. T. Waters, Councilman W. H. Wilson, Councilman Cecil Dobecka, Councilman E. C. Gentry, Secretary Constituting a quorum, where among other proceedings had was the following: Mr. W. H. Wilson made a motion that the Council pass Ordinance No. 12 allowing Sot the town of Coppell to take over the Dallas County Fresh Water District No. 17. Said Water District to be taken over on May 6, 1964 at 12:O0 P.M. The motion was seconded by B. J. Harwell. The motion was carried unanimously. Mr. J. R. McDonald made a motion that the town of Coppell make application for federal aid in order to make s preliminary survey for a water and sewer system, and that the firm of Fowler and Grafe, Inc., be retained ss consul- ting engineers. The motion wes seconded by W. H. Wilson and the motion was carried unanimously. Mr. C. T. Waters made a motion that Marvin Soringer and Associates be retained to complete a master plan for the town of Coppell. The motion was seconded by J. R. McDonald and carried by the following vote: Ayes: McDonald, Wilson, Dobecka and Waters Noes: None Abstined: Harwell Mr. Cecil Dobecka moved that the employees of the Dallas County Fresh Water District No. 17 be retained by the town of Coppell. The motlon was seconded by B. J. Harwell and carried unanimously. Mr. W. H. Wilson made s motion to retain the First Southwest Co. as financial advisor. The motion was seconded by C. T. Waters and carried unanimously. Mr. W. H. Wilson made a motion that Dumas, Huguenin and Boothman be employed as bonding attorneys. Mr. J. R. McDonald sacohded the motion and it carried unanimously. A motion was made by Cecil Dobeck that Mr. B. E. Parker be authorized to transfer Water District funds to the town of Copoell and that the Mercantile National Bank of Dallas be depositor for the water works. The motion was seconded by B. J. Harwell and was carried unanimously. Mr. C. T. Waters moved that Mr. E. C. Gentry be appoint- ed as tax assessor and tax collector. The move was seconded by J. R. McDonald and carried unanimously. motion was made by Mr. B. J. Harwell to discontinue issuing permits for the purpose of moving houses into the city limits of Coppell. He slso moved thst all mobile homes be restricted to designsted aress. The motion was seconded by J. R. McDonald and csrried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Town Council of the town of Coppell, Texas on motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting was adjourned.
