The Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas
convened on this 6th day of April, 1984, with the
following members present, to wit:
W. T. Cozby Mayor
J. R. McDonald
B. J. Harwell
C. T. Waters
L. P. Johnson
J. H. Burns
D. A. Phillips Secretary
constituting a quorum, when among other proceedings had,
was the following:
Upon motion by J. H. Burhs, and seconded by C.T.
Waters, the council voted to meet Wednesday, April 8,
1964, to canvass votes of the City Election of April 7.
There being no further business to come ~efore
the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, on
motion duly made, seconded, and c~rried, the meeting
ad j ourne d.

The Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas met
for a called meeting on this 8th day of April, with the
following members present, to wit:
W. T. Cozby Mayor
J. R. McDonald
L. P.. Johnson
C. T. Waters
J.
B. J. Hamvell
D. A. Phillips Secretary
constituting a quorum, when among other proceedings had,
was the following:
Upon motion by B. J. Harwell and seconded by C. T.
waters, the council voted to canvass the election.
Upon motion made by B. J. Harwell and seconded
by L. P. Johnson, the council voted th accept the
results of the canvass.
B. J. Harwell made the motion to dissolve the old
council. C. T. Waters seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
The newly elected council which consists of Mayor
W. T. Cozby, Councilmen B. J. Harwell, J. R. Mcdonald,
B. T. Waters, W. H. Wilson, and Cecil Dobecka were ~-~
sworn in by C. 0. Parker, notary public.
The newly elected council drew for terms as pro-
vided for by ordinance of March 2nd. The terms are
as follows:
C. T. Waters 1 year
J. R. McDonald 1 year
Cecil Dobecka 1 year
W. H. Wilson 2 years
B. J. Harwell 2 years
Wheelice Wilson was elected Mayor Pro-Temp. by the
council.
David A. Phillips, City Secretary, reported that
the City of Coppell had received $2,500 from the
Dallas County Fire Department, and $243.51 from the
Lone Star Gas Company.
David A. Phillips resigned as City Secretary, and
Mr. E. C. Gentry was appointed City Secretary by the
council.
There being no further business to come before the
Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, on motion
duly made, seconded, and carried, the meeting adjourned. ~-'~

AN ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
ON APRIL 7, 1964, FOR THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR
AND FIVE CITY COUNCILMEN
BE IT REMEMBERED that on this the ~ ~ day of
April, 1964, at a meeting of the City Council-Of th~'~'Clty of
Coppell, Texas, a quorum being present, the meeting was called
to order, and the following business was transacted.

official returns of an election held in said city on the 7th
day of April, 1964, for the election of a Mayor and five (5)
City Councilmen.
Whereupon said official returns were opened, examined,
canvassed and the results declared as follows:
CANVASS OF RETURNS AND DECLARATION OF RESULTS
WHEREAS, heretofore, the City Council of the City
of Coppell, Texas, called an election to be held in the City
of Coppell on April 7, 1964, for the purpose of electing a
Mayor and five (5) City Councilmen to serve for terms
commencing April, 1964, and caused notice thereof to be posted
in the manner and for the time provided for by law, which
order, together with the Notice issued thereon, is recorded
in Vol. , page , of the Minutes of the City Council
and is her--~y referre-~ and made a part hereof; and,
WHEREAS, immediately after said election the presiding
Judge and other officers holding said election made their re-
turns of the results thereof to the City Council as follo~s~
to-wit:
Said returns being made according to law, and duly
authenticated, and it being shown that written notices of said
election was posted for the time and in the manner provided by
law and all other proceedings pertaining to said election
having been shown to have been done and performed at and
within the time and in the manner provided by law, and all
papers pertaining thereto having been returned and filed
with the City Council and no protest or objection being made
to or regarding any matter pertaining to said election;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the City Council
of the City of Coppe11, Texas, after examining said returns
and opening and canvassing the votes of said election, that
the results of said election are as follows:

and he is hereby declared elected to the office of Mayor of
the City of Coppell, Texas, to serve, after qualifying for
the term commencing April, 1964.

Councilmen, and they are hereby declared to be elected to the
office, and to serve, after qualifying, for the term commencing

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this canvass and the
declaration of the results of said election be entered in the
minutes of the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, and
that said officers, after they have qualified and taken their
oaths, shall serve during the term commencing April, 1964,
and thereafter until their successors are duly elected and
qualified.
That this Resolution declaring the results of the
election called on April 7, 1964, shall become effective im-
mediately after its passage.
