CM 1955-11-21 (2) ELECTION NOTICE THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNT OF DALLAS TOWN OF COPPELL TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS RESIDING IN THE TERRITORY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED, TAKE NOTICE THAT ELECTION WILL BE HELD ON THE 17th DAY OF DECEMBER, 1955, PURSUANT TO AN ELECTION ORDER ENTERED BY THE COUNTY JUDGE OF DALLAS COUNTY, TEXAS, AS FOLLOWS: THE STATE OF TEXAS ELECTION ORDER THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNT OF DALLAS TOWN OF COPPELL WHEREAS, on thee 18th day of November, 1955, a petition was presented to me by W. A. Hodges, and more than 34 other persons of the Twwn of Coppell, Texas, prayiing that an election be ordered to be held in the territory described in said petition for the purpose of determing whether or not the same shall be incorporaed for municipal purposes as a Town, under the Aldermaic form of government; and IT APPEARING that the said petition bears the signatures of the requisite number of qualified voters who are residents of said Town, and is in every respect in conformity with law; and IT FURTHER APPEARING that the area comprised within the boundaries defined in said petition does not exceed two (2) square miles, and that all other facts set up in said petition are found to be true; THEREFORE, I, W. L. STERRETT, in my official capacity as County Judge of Dallas County, Texas, do hereby grant said petition and do hereby order that an election be here at theSchool House in the said Town of Coppell, Texas, on the 17th day of December, 1955, for the purpose of detererming whether or not the same shall be incorporated for municipal purposes as a Town, under the Aldermanic form of government, under authority of Article 1133, et seq., Chapter ll, of Title 28, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. of 1925, and amendments thereto; and I HEREBY APPOINT T. B. MOORE as Presiding Judge of said election, and the said T. B. Moore shall select the Judges and two Clerks to assist in holding the same. EVERY PERSON residing within the hereinafter described territory entitled to vote at any general election under the laws of the State of Texas, regulating general elections, shall be allowed to vote in such election. THE BALLOTS to be used in said election shallhave written or printed thereon "CORPORATION" and "NO CORPORATION". EACH VOTER desiring to vote for the incorporation under the Aldermanic form of government shall permit to remain on his or her ballot the words; "CORFORATION". AND EACH VOTER desiring to vote aga.inst the incorporation under the Aldermanic form of government shall permit to remain on his or her ballot the words; "NO THE MANNER of holding said election shall be governed by the General Laws of the State of Texas regulating general elections, except as otherwise provided by the Statutes hereinabove referred to. THE TERRITORY proposed to be incorporated is fully snd accurately described in said petition as follows: Being a part of the E. A. Crow Survey, Abstract No. 301, the J. A. Simmons Survey, Abstract No. 1296, the S. A. & M. G. RR. Survey, Abstract No. 1439, the J. F. Vest Survey, Abstract No. 1508, and the J. W. Anderson Survey, Abstract No. 18, Dallas County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the center line of New Belt Line Road at its intersection with the North corporate limits of the City of Dallas, Texas, as established on first reading; THENCE North along the center line of New Belt Line Road to a point 1320 feet South of the center line of Thweatt Road; THENCE West 5280 feet; THENCE South snd parallel to the center line of New Belt Line Road 9200 feet to a point; THENCE East passing a Northwest corner of the City of Dallas, Texas, as established on first reading, continuing along the North. corporate limits of the City of Dallas, Texas, to the place of Beginning. THE NAME by which such Town is to be known, if it be incorporated, shall be "TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS" A COPY OF THIS ORDER shall be sufficient notice of said election and ten (10) days notice of the time and place of holding said election shall be given by posting three written or printed notices of same at each of three public places within said Town and by publication thereof once in a newspaper of general circulation published at least one year previous to the date of this Order in Dallas County, Texas, the date of such publication of said notice shall be ten (10) full days prier to the date of the election. That I posted a true and correct copy of the foregoing Notice of Election at each of three (3) public places within the Town of Coppell, Texas, to-wit: One at English ' s Store. One at Cooper's Store. One at Harwell's Barber Shop. 3. ~I~at each of the Notices of Election were posted by me on the 22nd day of November, 1955, which is not less than ten full days prior to the date of the election.
