OR 57-07 Annexation 5707 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO AND ADJOINING THE TWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS TO, THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, T. J. McHale and wife, Katharine R. McHale have presented a petition to the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, praying that certain lands, more particularly descried in said petition, be annexed to the Town of Coppell, Texas; and WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, have investigated into and have detetmined that all of the facts contained in said petition are true and do hereby officially find: 1. That T. J. McHale and wife, Katharine R. McHale, are the owners of the land described in said petition. 2. That the land described in said petition is located entirely within Dallas County, Texas, and is contiguous and adjacent to the Town of Coppell, Texas, and on which less than three (3) qualified voters reside. 3. That none of the territory is more than one-half mile in width from the present Town Limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas. 4. That said petition is acknowledged by every person owing an interest in said land. and; WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, have investigated into and have determined that it would be advantageous and beneficial to the Town of Coppell, Texas, and its inhabitants, as well as the hereafter described territory, to annex such territory to the Town of Coppell, Texas; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS: 1. That the territory described as follows: BEGINNING at the North corporate limits of the Town of Copelll, Texas, adjoining the Northeast corner of the property of Casey Irby; THENCE along the boundaries of a tract of land in the name of T. J. McHale Katharine McHale to include a 100-foot strip fronting on State Road; THENCE along thee boundaries of the McHale tract in a North and Easterly direction to include a 100-foot strip fronting on Thweatt Road; THENCE back South and East along the boundaries of the McHale tract to the interaction of Garza and Belt Line Roads; THENCE South along the center line of Belt line road to the Northeast concer of the Irby property marking the North corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas, on the West side of Belt line Road; THENCE along the North boundary line of the Irby property to the place of Beginning, said property with these boundaries includes a total of 59 acres, more or less. be and the same is hereby annexed to the Town of Coppell, Texas. 2. That from and after the passage of this ordinance, said territory shall be a part of said Town of Coppell, Texas, and the in- habitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights, privileges and immunities of all other citizens of the Town of Coppell, Texas, and shall be bound by all of the ordinances and regulations enacted pursuant to and in conformity with the general laws of the State of Texas. The fact that the Town of Coppell, Texas, and its inhabitants, are in immediate need of the relief afforded by the provisions of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity demanding that any and all rules requiring ordinances to be passed at more than one meeting be suspended, and that this ordinance take effect immediately upon and after its passage, and it is so ordained. Ordinance 57-07 was passed and approved by the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas on April 15, 1957.
