OR 57-15 Appointment of a Town Secretary 5715 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE TOWN SECRETARY FOR THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN ENERGENCY. WHEREAS, heretofore, the Town of Coppell, Texas, has adopted the policy of electing a Town Secretary, and WHEREAS, the Town Council of the town of Coppell, Texas, have investigated into and have determined that it would be to the benefit of the Town and its inhaOitants, to provide for the appointment of a town Secretary; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS: 1. That immediately after the Town Council shall have qualified, pursuant to the annual election of officers, the Mayor, with the approval of a two-thirds majority vote of the Town Council, shall appoint a Town Secretary, who shall hold office until his successor shall have been appointed and qualified. 2. That the Town Secretary may be removed from office at any time for cause by a resolution adopted by a two-thirds majority vote of all the Aldermen elected, provided that the Town Secretary may make application for a puolic hearing within ten (10) days after the adoption of such resolution and such removal ,shall be held in abeyance until after a public hearing has been had. 3. That the salary of the Town Secretary, shall be established by the Town Oouncil and may be raised or lowered from time to time as may be determined expedient by the Town Council. The fact that the provisions of this ordinance are needed immediately cremates an emergency and an imperative public necessity, demanding that the rules requiring ordinances to be passed at more than one separate meeting be suspended, and that that this ordinance take effect immediately after its passage, and it is so ordained. Ordinance 57-15 was passed and approved by the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas on August 5, 1957.
