OR 60-22 Annexation 6022 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO AND ADJOINING THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, TO THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Mayor has certified to the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, the affidavit of Jack A. Maxwell, J.M. Johnson and Mrs. J. M. Johnson, pertaining to the vote of the inhabitants of the hereinafter described territory with reference to the annexation of such territory to the Town of Coppell, Texas; and WHEREAS, the Town Council have investigated into said election and have determined that such election was in all,things regular and in conformity with law, and that a nmjority of the inhabitants who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature voted in favor of annexation; and WHEREAS, the Town Council have investigated into and have deter- mined that it would be advantageous to the Town of Coppell, Texas, and its inhabitants, as well as the inhabitants of the hereinafter describ- ed territory, to annex such territory to the Town of Coppell, Texas; WHEREAS, the Town Council have determined that such territory is contiguous to and adjoins the Town of Coppell, Texas, and that no part of such territory is more than one-half mile in width from the existing corporate limits of such Town; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS: 1. That the territory described as follows: BEGINNING at the most westerly Northwest corner of the Town of Coppell, Texas, in the Northwest right-of-way line of State Highway of. 121; THENCE Southwest with the Northwest right-of- way line of State Highway No. 121 to a point in the corporate limits of the City of Grapevine Texas; THENCE South with the corporate limits of the City of Grapevine, Texas, to the Southeast right-of-way line of State Highway No. 121, continuing South with the Dallas-Tarrant County Line to a point due West of the Southwest corner of the Town of Coppell, Texas; THENCE East to the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas; THENCE North with the West corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas, to the place of Begining. be and the same is hereby annexed to the Town of Coppell, Texas. 2. That from and after the passage of this ordinance, said terri- tory shall be a part of said Town of Coppell, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights, privleges and immunities of all other citizens of the Town of Coppell, Texas, and shall be bound by all of the ordinances and regulations enacted pursuant to and in con- formity with the General Laws of the State of Texas. The fact that the Town of Coppell, Texas, and its inhabitants, are immediate need of.the relief afforded by the provisions of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity demand- lng that any and all rules requiring ordinances to be passed at more than one meeting be suspended, and that this ordinance take effect immediately upon its passage, and it is so ordained. Ordinance 60-22 was passed and approved by the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas on August 25, 1960.
