OR 60-25 Annexation 6025 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO AND ADJOINING THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, TO THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Mayor has certified to the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, the affidavit of A. D. Tucker, Joe C. Davis, Jr. and Mrs. Joe C. Davis, Jr., pertaining to the vote of the inhabitants of the herein- after described territory with reference to the annexation of such terri- tory to the Town of Coppell, Texas; and WHEREAS, the Town Council have investigated into said election and have determined that such election was in all things regular and in con- formity with law, and that a majority of the inhabitants who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature voted in favor of annexation; and WHEREAS, the Town Council have investigated into and have determined that it would be advantageous to the Town of Coppell, Texas, and its in- habitants, as well as the inhabitants of the hereinafter described terri- tory, to annex such territory to the Town of Coppell, Texas; and WHEREAS, the Town Council have determined that such territory is contiguous to and adjoins the Town of Coppell, Texas, and that no part of such territory is more than one-half mile in width from the existing corporate limits of such Town; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF COPPELL, 1. That the territory described as follows: Being part of the McKinney and Williams Survey, Abstract No. 1054, Dallas County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a Northwest corner of the City of Dallas, Texas, in the centerline of New Belt Line Road at Sanders Loop, a point in the corporate limits of the.Town of Coppell, Texas; · TNENCE East with the corporate limits of the City of Dallas, Texas, to an angle corner in the corporate limits of the City of Dallas, Texas; THENCE North with the corporate limits of the City of Dallas, Texas, to the South right-of-way line of the Coppell-Carrollton Road; THENCE West with the South right-of-way line of the Coppell-Carrollton Road to the centerline of New Belt Line Road, a point in the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas; THENCE South with the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas, to the place of Beginning, being the same property described as the Sanders Sub- division, recorded in Vol. 32, Page 229, Subdivision Records, Dallas County, Texas. be and the same is hereby annexed to the Town of Coppell, Texas. 2. That from and after the passage of this ordinance, said terri- tory shall be a part of said Town of Coppell, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights, privileges and immunities of all other citizens of the Town of Coppell, Texas, and shall be bound by all of the ordinances and regulations enacted pursuant to and in con- formity ~lth the General Laws of the State of Texas. The fact that the Town of Coppell, Texas, and its inhabitants, are in immediate need of the relief afforded by the provisions of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity demand- ing that any and all rules requiring ordinances to be passed at more than one meeting be suspended and that this ordinance take effect immediately upon its passage, and it is so ordained. Ordinance 60-25 was passed and approved by the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas on October 3, 1960.
