OR 60-26 Annexation 6026 AN OBDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO AND ADJOINING THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, TO THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Roy L. Crouch has presented a petition to the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, praying that certain lands, more particularly described in said petition, be annexed to the Town of Coppell, Texas; and WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, have in- vestigated into and have determined that all of the facts contained in said petition are true and do hereby officially find: 1. That Roy L. Crouch is the owner of the land described in said petition. 2. That the land described in said petition is located entirely within Dallas County, Texas, and is contiguous and adjacent to the Town of Coppell, Texas, and on which less than three (3) qualified voters reside. 3. That none of the territory is more than one- half mile in width from the present Town Limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas. &. That said petition is acknowledged by every person owning an interest in said land. and; WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, have investigated into and have determined that it would be advantageous and beneficial to the Town of Coppell, Texas, and its inhabitants, as well as the hereinafter described territory, to annex such territory to the Town of Coppell, Texas; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF COPPELL, TEXAS: 1. That the territory described as follows: BEGINNING at an angle corner in the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas, in the centerline of New Belt Line Road, the North, east corner of the original Townsite; THENCE North 1320 feet, more or less, with the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas, to an angle corner in the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas; THENCE West 2640 feet, more or less, with. the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas, to an angle corner in the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas; . THENCE South 1320 feet, more or less, with the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas, to an angle corner in the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas; THENCE East 2640 feet, more or less, with the corporate limits of the Town of Coppell, Texas, to the place of Beginning: being the same land conveyed to Roy L. Crouch, by deed dated June 10, 1946. be and the same is hereby annexed to the Town of Coppell, Texas. 2. That from and after the passage of this ordinance, said terri- tory shall be a part of said Town of Coppell, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights, privileges and immaunities of all other citizens of the Town of Coppell, Texas, and shall be bound by all of the ordinances and regulations enacted pursuant to and in con- formity with the general laws of the State of Texas. The fact that the Town of Coppell, Texas, and its inhabitants, are in immediate negd of the relief afforded by the provisions of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity de- manding that any and all rules requiring ordinances to be passed at more than one meeting be suspended, and that this ordinance take effect immediately upon and after its passage, and it is so ordained. Ordinance 60-26 was passed and approved by the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas on October 3, 1960.
