STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF DALLAS
The City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, convened in special
meeting on the 1st day of February, 1966, with the following members present
to-wit:
W. T. Cozby, Mayor
C. T. Waters, Councilman
W. H. Wilson, Councilman
Thomas Sisk, Councilman
B. J. Harwell, Councilman
C. J. Dobecka, Councilman
E. C. Gentry, City Secretary
Constituting a quorum where among the other proceedings had was the
following:
Upon a motion made by W. H. Wilson and seconded by B. J. Harwell,
Police ChieF V. E. Wall was given the authority to purchase a heater for the
police station. The motion carried unanimously.
Motion made by Thomas Sisk to adopt a revised price list for meter
installations. The motion was seconded by C. J. Dobecka and carried unanimously.
Motion made by C. J. Dobecka to adopt Ordinance No. 27, concerning
the disannexation of land in the northeast section of Coppell. The motion was
also to include the passage of Ordinance No. 28, concerning the disannexation
of land in the northeast section of Coppell. The motion was seconded by Thomas
Sisk and carried unanimously. The Mayor directed that his written order con-
cerning this disannexation be filed following the minutes of this meeting.
No further business being presented to the Council at this time, and
upon a motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Council adjourned.

ORDER OF MAYOR OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS
WHEREAS, on this the 1st day of February , 1966, the City
Council has duly passed Ordinances #27 and #28 which read as follows:
Ordinance No. 27
WHEREAS, there now exists within the corporate limits
of the City of Coppe11, Dallas County, Texas, a city organized
and operating under the General Laws of the State of Texas,
certain territory to the extent of ten (10) acres or more,
which territory is contiguous to and adjoins the lines of
said City of Coppe11; and
WHEREAS, such territory has fewer than one occupied
residence or business structure for every two acres of such
territory and fewer than three occupied residences or business
structures on any one acre of such territory, and the said City
of Coppell desires to discontinue said territory as a part of
the City of Coppe11;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of
Coppe11, Texas, hereby finds that the following described
uninhabitated territory contains ten (10) acres or more which
is contiguous to and adjoining the lines of the City of Coppell,
Texas, and has fewer than one occupied residence or business
structure for every two acres of such territory and fewer than
three occupied residences or business structures on any one
acre of such territory, to-wit:
TRACT I
All that certain territory lying in the City of Coppell, Dallas
County, Texas, lying west of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River
and north of Sandy Lake Road more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the east line of the D. Myers Survey
Abstract No. 886 and the northeast bank of Denton Creek; said
point aa. so being in the present City Limits of the City of
Coppell, Texas.
Thence easterly with the meanderings of the northeast bank of
Denton Creek and the present City Limits of Coppe11, Texas, to
a point in the north right of way line of Sandy Lake Road the
same being the north right of way line of old U.S. Highway 77;
Thence west with the north right of way line of old U. S.
Highway 77 to a point in the southeast line of a 130 feet
width right of way line, conveyed by deed dated October 17, 1956.
Thence northeast along the southeast line of a 130 feet width
right of way line to the point of beginning
Section 2. That the tract of land hereinabove described in
Section No. 1 of this Ordinance be, and the same is hereby dis-
continued as a part of the City of Coppell, Texas, and said
territory is hereby disannexed from said City, so that the same
shall no longer be a part thereof.
Section 3. That upon passage of this ordinance the City of
Coppell shall no longer exercise jurisdiction or control over
the above described territory.
Section 4. The fact that said territory is no longer necessary
or proper as a part of the territory of the City of Coppe11, Texas,
and should be, therefore, disannexed, creates an urgency and an
emergency which in the interest of the public welfare, requires
that this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after
its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
DULY PASSED by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas,
on this the 1st day of February , 1966.
Ordinance No. 28
WHEREAS, there now exists within the corporate limits of
the City of Coppe11, Dallas County, Texas, a city organized and
operating under the General Laws of the State of Texas, certain
territory to the extent of ten (10) acres or more, which terri-
tory is contiguous to and adjoins the lines of said City of
Coppell; and
WHEREAS, such territory has fewer than one occupied
residence or business structure for every two acres of such
territory and fewer than three occupied residences or business
structures on any one acre of such territory, and the said City
of Coppell desires to discontinue said territory as a part of
the City of Coppell;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Coppe11,
Texas, hereby finds that the following described uninhabitated
territory contains ten (10) acres or more which is contiguous
to and adjoining the lines of the City of Coppell, Texas, and
has fewer than one occupied residence or business structure
for every two acres of such territory and fewer than three
occupied residences or business structures on any one acre of
such territory, to-wit:
TRACT II
A parcel of land in northwest Dallas County, Texas lying
south of Denton Creek and east of Allen Road more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the west line of the Mounts Survey
Abstract No. 903 and the north bank of Denton Creek; also
being a point in the present City Limits of the City of
Coppe11, Texas.
Thence southeasterly with the meanderings of the north-
east bank of Denton Creek to its intersection with the
north line of the D. Myers Survey Abstract 886;
Thence east with the north line of the D. Myers Survey
and the present City Limits to the northwest line of
130 feet width right of way across the D. Myers Survey
Abstract No. 886, described by deed dated October 17, 1956;
Thence in a southerly direction with the northwest line
at the said 130 foot right of way line to a point in the
northeast right of way line of old U.S. Highway 77; also
known as Sandy Lake Road;
Thence northwest and west along the northeast and north
right of way line of old U. S. Highway 77 to a point in
the west line of the E. Cook Survey Abstract No. 300;
Thence north along the west line of the E. Cook Survey
Abstract No. 300 and the west line of the_____ Mounts
Survey Abstract No. 903 to the place of beginning.
Section 2. That the tract of land hereinabove described
in Section No. i of this Ordinance be, and the same is hereby
discontinued as a par.t of the City of Coppe11, Texas, ana
said territory is hereby disannexed from said City, so that
the same shall no longer be a part thereof.
Section 3. That upon passage of this ordinance the
City of Coppe11 shall no longer exercise jurisdiction or
control over the above described territory.
Section 4. The fact that said territory is no longer
necessary or proper as a part of the territory of the City
of Coppell, Texas, and should be, therefore, disannexed,
creates an urgency and an emergency which in the interest

DULY PASSED by the City CouncĀ±l of the City of Coppell,
Texas, on this the 1st day of February , 1966.
NOW, THEREFORE, I hereby enter this Order on the Minutes of the City
Council and from and after the date of this entry, the territory above
described in Ordinance #27 and Ordinance #28 shall cease to be a part
of the City of Coppell, Texas.
