The City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, convened in regular
meeting on the 6th day of June, 1966, with the following members present to-wit:
W. T. Cozby, Mayor
W. H. Wilson, Councilman
Bill Harwell, Councilman
Thomas Sisk, Councilman
C. J. Dobecka, Councilman
C. L. Plumlee, Jr., Councilman
E. C. Gentry, City Secretary
Constituting a quorum where among the other proceedings had was the
following:
Mr. John Ratliff appeared before the Council and requested that he be
granted a permit to move a house into Coppell. After discussion on this subject
W. H. Wilson made amotion to grant said permit to Mr. Ratliff and the motion was
seconded by C. L. Plumlee, Jr. The motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Wilson, Plumlee, Dobecka
Noes: Sisk
Abstained: Harwell
Mrs. Beeson appeared before the Council and stated that she was going
to have to purchase another truck in which to haul the trash. The Council stated
that while the City did not enter into private business, some of them would be
glad to help her find a truck that would meet her needs.
Mr. Cozby stated that Harry Gaston had sent a check in the amount of
$100.00 to cover the cost of his meter and that he wanted another put in further
back on the property to run to a smaller house in the back. It was stated that
he would need to put ap another $15.00 meter deposit.
Mr. Gentry stated that Faye Rush had requested that he bring to the
attention of the Council the fact that Mr. C. L. Plumlee, Sr. had been billed
for water even though he had not been living at the house since Jan. Due to
a misunderstanding Mr. Plumlee had cut the water off himself, but it was not cut
off at the meter and there was apparently a leak somewhere in the line resulting
in the following water bills. W. H. Wilson made a motion that the current water
bill be marked "No Charge." The motion was seconded by Thomas Sisk and carried
unanimously.

W. H. Wilson made a motion that Mr. Gentry be authorized to find and
purchase a good used typewriter and typewriter table. The motion was seconded by
Bill Harwell and carried unanimously.
Mr. Gentry started that Mr. Vanbebber had suggested that the City purchase
chlorine by the barrel, about 15 gallons, which would be more economical. Mr. Wilson
stated that Mr. Vanbebber had also suggusted that the City purchase one more valve
and put it in the 4" line. The cost of said valve to be about $40.00.
Mr. Gentry stated that Mrs. Rush would be leaving on her two week vacation
on Friday, June 10, and he could also be gone during this time, which would necessitate
hiring someone as a replacement during this period. Mr. Wilson stated that his wife
would be willing to accept the job and the Council agreed.
Bill Harwell stated that as the situation stood at the present, Mr. Cozby
had to do all the checking on the houses to be moved into the City. He suggested
that a committee be formed to assist the Mayor in this work.
No further business being presented to the Council at this time and
upon a motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Council adjourned.
