CM 1966-06-20 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DALLAS The City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, convened in regular meeting on the 20th day of June, 1966, with the following members present to-wit: W. T. Cozby, Mayor W. H. Wilson, Councilman C. J. Dobecka, Councilman C. L. Plumlee, Jr., Councilman Bill Harwell, Councilman Thomas Sisk, Councilman Constituting a quorum where among the other proceedings had was the following: W. O. Corbin recuested that his property be taken back into the City, but since it had not been on file for five days, not action was taken at this time. Mr. Cozby presented an ordinance No. 34 from the Southwestern States Telephone Co. The Company wanted to do away with all four-party residence service and four-party business service. They also wanted to change the charges on business extensions from $1.50 to $1.75 and the charges on residence extensions from $1.50 to $1.25. They requested that the City-enter into a contract with them such as they had with the other towns. Bill Harwell made a motion to enter into the agreement with the Southwestern States Telephone Co., and the motion was seconded by Cecil Dobecka. The motion carried unanimously. Mr. Cozby announced that there would be airplanes in the area poisoning fire ants. Mr. Cozby also stated that Mr. Audy Thompson had told him that he would move his trailer immediately. Mr. Cozby stated that Police Chief Virgil Wall had told him that he would be moving and requested that his resignation be accepted effective in 30-days. The Council requested that Mr. Larry Jackson prepare a petition for the paying of Maynard St. The Council suggested that Mr. Vanbebber consider using the "L" grade copper since it was about $.30 cheaper per ft. 000042 No further business being presented to the Council at this time and upon a motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Council adjourned.
