RESOLUTION NO. 2013-1112.2
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT
OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS FOR
THE AUTHORIZATION FOR THE REDFLEX TRAFFIC SYSTEM TO
SUBMIT FILES TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR
VEHICLES ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS;
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS,
the City Council has and does elected to participate in the State of Texas
Scofflaw Program under the Texas Transportation Code; and
WHEREAS,
the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles desires to enter into an Interlocal
Agreement with the City of Coppell, Texas for the purpose of marking Texas Motor Vehicle
Registration Records for non-payment of fines and fees; and
WHEREAS,
the City of Coppell, Texas authorizes the Redflex Traffic System to submit
files to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles; and
WHEREAS,
upon full review and consideration of the Agreement, and all matters
related thereto, the City Council is of the opinion that the terms and conditions thereof should be
approved, and that the Mayor should be authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the
City of Coppell, Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1
. That the Interlocal Agreement by and between the Texas Department of
Motor Vehicle and the City of Coppell, Texas, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit “A,” is in all things hereby approved.
SECTION 2.
That the City Manager and/or his designee of the City of Coppell is
authorized to execute said Agreement for the purposes recited and any additional documents to
execute the obligations provided therein.

SECTION 3. That should any word, phrase, paragraph, or section of this Resolution be
held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this Resolution
as a whole, or any part or provision thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional,
illegal or invalid, and shall not affect the validity of the Resolution as a whole.
SECTION 4. That all provisions of the resolutions of the City of Coppell, Texas, in
conflict with the provisions of this Resolution be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all other
provisions not in conflict with the provisions of this Resolution shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That this Resolution shall take effect on and after its adoption by the City
Council of the City of Coppell.
