CM 1967-01-03 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DALLAS The Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, met in regular meeting on the 3rd day of January, 1967, with the following members present to-wit: W. T. Cozby, Mayor W. H. Wilson, Councilman B. J. Harwell, Councilman C. J. Dobecka, Councilman Thomas Sisk, Councilman C. L. Plumlee, Councilman E. C. Gentry, Secretary constituting a quorum, where among other proceedings had was the following: Mrs. Mildred Beeson met with the Council at their request. Complaints of residents about trash blowing from her truck over the streets and yards was discussed. Mrs. Beeson stated she would try to keep this from happening in the future and that ~he would be in tomorrow (1-4-67) to pay full amount owed the city. Mrs. Beeson was advised to notify the Council in the future before making any change in collection rates. Motion was made by W. H. Wilson that any rule requiring resolutions to be read at more than one meeting be suspended and motion was seconded by Thomas Sisk. Motion was made by W. H. Wilson and seconded by C. J. Dobecka that a resolution be passed awarding the sale of the bonds. Motion was made by B. J. Harwell that we request Fowler & Grafe Engineering Corporation to proceed with the water works program. Seconded by C. J. Dobecka. Motion was made by C. J. Dobecka and seconded by B. J. Harwell that the following bills be paid: Don Hall Printing Company $ 8.50 Bennett's Printing 20.46 Gower's Service Station 20.09 Coppell Superette 8.45 Briggs-Weaver 4.33 National Bldg. Center 13.11 Mr. Forgery met with the Council requesting that we aid him in whatever possible to get the County to pave Howell Street, as the developer has agreed to pay for the work if the County will fix the street. Gentry,City Secretary Read and approved this day of January, 1967 RESOLUTION AWARDING SALE OF BONDS THE STATE OF TEXAS CITY OF COPPELL COUNTY OF DALLAS ON THIS, the 3rd, day of january, 1966, the City Council of the CITY OF COPPELL, Texas, convened in regular session at the regular meeting place thereof with the following members present and in attendance, to -wit: W. T. COZBY MAYOR C. L. PLUMLEE, JR. ) C. J. DOBECKA ) THOMAS C. SISK ) ALDERMEN WHEELICE H. WILSON ) BILLY J. HARWELL ) and with the following absent: , constituting a quorum; and among other proceedings had were the following: MAYOR COZBY introduced a proposed resolution which was read in full. Alderman Sisk made a motion that any rule requiring resolutions to be read at more than one meeting be sus- pended. The motion was ~econded by Alderman and carried by the following vote: AYES: Aldermen Plumlee, Dobecka, Sisk, Wilson and Harwell. NOES: None. Alderman William made a motion that said resolution be finally passed and adopted. The motion was seconded by Alderman Dabecka and carried by the following vote: AYES: Aldermen Plumlee, Dobecka, Sisk, Wilson and Harwell. NOES: None. The Mayor announced that the resolution had been finally passed and adopted. The RESOLUTION is as follows: WHEREAS, the City Council has offered for sale certain bonds said City described as follows: $345,000 "CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1966," dated May 1, 1966, in denomination of $1,000 each, and maturing serially in the years 1969 through 2006; $ 95,000 "CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM BONDS, SERIES 1966," dated May 1, 1966, in denomination of $1,000 each, maturing serially in the years 1969 through 1996; and $ 5,000 "CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM BONDS, SERIES 1966-A, dated May 1, 1966, in denomination of $1,000 each, maturing serially in the years 1971 through 1974; and WHEREAS, the above described bonds have heretofore been legally authorized, and it is now proper for this City Council to award the sale of said bonds, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, SECRETARY OF. HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, or his successor, Washington, D. C., be awarded the sale of the following bonds, more particularly des- cribed in the ordinance authorizing their issuance: $345,000 "CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1966," dated May 1, 1966, in denomination of $1,000 each, and maturing serially in the years 1969 through 2006, and $ 95,000 "CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM BONDS , SERIES 1966, "dated May 1, 1966, in denomination of $1,000 each, maturing serially in the years 1969 through 1996, all with interest at the rate of 4% per annum, at a price of par plus accrued interest to date of delivery. SECTION 2: That FIRST SOUTHWEST COMPANY, Dallas, Texas, be awarded the sale of the following bonds, more particularly des- cribed in the ordinance authorizing their issuance: $ 5,000 "CITY. OF COPPELL, TEXAS, WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM BONDS, SERIES 1966-A," dated May 1, 1966, in denomination of $1,000 each, maturing serially in the years 1971 through 1974, with interest at the rate of 4% per annum, at a price of par plus accrued interest to date of delivery. SECTION 3: That the acts of this City Council in advertising the sale of the bonds and awarding the sale thereof, be and they are hereby ratified and confirmed.
