RE 2014-0527.2 RESOLUTION NO. _2014-0527.2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, ADOPTING A STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF MEETING COMPLIANCE GOALS OF THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (TCEQ) PHASE II MUNICIPAL STORM WATER REQUIREMENTS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Coppell is required to submit a stormwater management program in accordance with Section 402 of the Clean Water Act and Chapter 26 of the Texas Water Code. WHEREAS, the City of Coppell will comply with the General Permit and the requirements put forth by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. WHEREAS, the purpose of the stormwater management program is to prevent pollution in storm water to the maximum extent practicable and effectively prohibit illicit discharges to the system. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Coppell hereby adopts the Stormwater Management Program, as prepared in conjunction with the City’s consultant, containing the necessary components to comply with the requirements of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Phase II Municipal Stormwater Program, dated December 13, 2013, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. That the Mayor is also hereby authorized to sign the official document that will be presented to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) which hereinafter shall be referred to as the “City of Coppell Stormwater Management Program.” SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage, as the law and charter in such cases provide.
