BM 2013-06-20 KCB Keep Coppell Beautiful Minutes of Meeting June 20, 2013 To involve individuals and businesses throughout the community to promote education and initiatives that encourages waste reduction, liter prevention, beautification and environmental sustainability. Item 1: Call to Order Shawn Thompson called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. Item 2: Consider Approval of Minutes for June 20, 2013 Motion was made and carried to approve the May 16, 2013 minutes. Item 3: Citizens’ Forum No citizen’s present Item 4: Review Strategic Plan Board discussed further implementation of the Strategic Plan by developing a stronger presence in the community and involving volunteers at upcoming events and booths. The board will continue to build a valuable volunteer base. rd Item 5: Discussion and timeline of July 3 Fireworks participation/activities/times, including subcommittee Board discussed details of the booth at the fireworks event. Subcommittee reported on the type of game and involvement of volunteers. The booth will promote residential, yard trimmings, and HHW recycling, coinciding with the mission statement. Item 6: Discussion regarding outreach activities. Board discussed the upcoming activities booth participation at the Coppell ndththrd Farmers Market June 22, July 27, August 24, as well as the July 3 fireworks event. Board evaluated past participation in booth outreach activities, including tour offerings. July and August meeting cancelled. Board discussed ways to engage the public at booths, including give-a-ways and elevator speech. Item 7: Discussion regarding Waste Management recycling facility tour. Board discussed experiences from the WM recycling facility tour. Item 8: Discussion regarding Chamber of Commerce Event Board discussed experiences from the Chamber of Commerce event.
