K 43 Economic Development Committee 6:00 PM 255 Parkway Boulevard Coppell, Texas 75019-9478 Notice is hereby given that the Economic Development Committee of the City of Coppell, Texas, will meet in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at 255 E. Parkway Boulevard. 255 Parkway Blvd. As authorized by Section 551.071(2) of the Texas Government Code, this meeting may be convened into closed Executive Session for the purpose of seeking confidential legal advice from the City Attorney on any agenda item listed herein. The purpose of this meeting is to consider the following items: Regular Session (Open to the Public) Call To Order. Vice Chairperson Carroll called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. Present: Don Carroll, Vice Chairperson, Kamruddin Shams, Monica Diamond, Maggie Lucas, David Heartquist, Aaron Straach, Jeff Varnell, Gayle Westapher, and Vincent Hsieh (alternate). Absent: Bill Rohloff, Sue Bird, Kim Kelley. Also present were Economic Development Coordinator Mindi Hurley and Recording Secretary Ashley Owens. Approval of Minutes from February 4, 2015. A motion was made by Monica Diamond, seconded by Jeff Varnell, that the Minutes of February 4, 2015, be approved. The motion was passed by unanimous vote. Aye: 8- Don Carroll, Vice Chairperson, Kamruddin Shams, Monica Diamond, David Heartquist, Aaron Straach, Jeff Varnell, and Vincent Hsieh. Executive Session (Closed to the Public) Section 551.087, Texas Government Code - Economic Development Negotiations. A. Economic Development prospects north of Bethel Road and east of S. Coppell Road. Vice Chairperson Carroll covened into Executive Session at 6:11 p.m. as under the above -stated article. Item A and B (above) were discussed. Vice Chairperson Carroll adjourned the Executive Session at 6:32 p.m. and re -opened the Regular Session. Regular Session (Open to the Public) 4. Discuss Landscaping Incentives. City Council has agreed that the incentive plan they are looking for is just geared towards landscaping irrigation. Mindi presented an incentive proposal to the committee. Discussion ensued about budget parameters. 5. Discuss Businesses that Support Healthy Living. Discussion ensued about the guidelines that need to be defined for "Healthy Living". Mindi will reach out to the Living Well in Coppell committee for assistance. 6. General discussion and update on commercial and industrial projects. Adjournment The committe discussed the Bethel Road construction and the Naterra Tour. The Quarterly Report will be delivered at the May meeting. So far there has not been a date set for the Joint Meeting.
