Also present were Parks and Recreation Director Brad Reid, Assistant Director of Operations Guy McLain and Administrative Support Supervisor Cecilia Gandara. The purpose of this meeting was to consider the following items Regular Session (Open to the Public) 1. Call To Order Chair Clark called the meeting to order at 6:38 pm. Members Present: Chair Jack Clark, Vice Chair Ed Guignon, Boardmember Maureen Corcoran, Boardmember Lisa Montes, Boardmember Melinda Melnick, Youth Advisor Kelly Rohe, Alternate Janet Macvubbin, Youth Advisor Nihar Tatapudi, and Boardmember Lisa Dunham City of Copaso,, T— Pape i Parks and Recreation Board Minutes March 7, 2016 Citizens' Forum: Citizen's should complete a Citizen's Appearance Form. Pursuant to the State Open Meetings Law, the Board is restricted in discussing or taking action on items not posted on the Agenda. Action on your statements can only be taken at future meetings. Chair Clark asked for those who signed up to speak. Kevin Slaton, 101 Dickens Dr., spoke in regards to allowing baseball practice on the game fields at Wagon Wheel Park. PJ Houm, 296 Dogwood Trail, spoke in regards to the field allocation concerns between CDA and CVSA and would like for field scheduling to be done by the Parka Department Barrett Clark, 706 Beal Lane, spoke in regards to safety concerns on fields due to lack of lighting and field allocation for CDA. Jackie Solis , 215 N. Moore Rd., spoke in regards to field access for CDA. Kurt Klement 647 E. Bethel School Rd., spoke in regards to the polifics involved with CVSA and CDA. Deb Graves, 327 Copperstone Trail, spoke in regards to the field allocation concerns between CVSA and GDA. Jason Lomsso, 3260 Scotch Creek, expressed his interest in an under 30 league to play soccer in Coppell. Nicholas Reyes, 411 Copperstone Trail, spoke in regards to allowing field access to CDA. Susan Whiteny, 107 Ridgewood Dr., spoke In regards to allowing field access to CDA. Sam Whiting, 107 Ridgewood Dr., spoke in regards to the field allocation concerns between CVSA and CDA. Erik Dinsmore, 105 Cedar Crest CL, spoke in regards to field access for CDA. Channel Hill, 171 N. Denton Tap Rd., spoke In regards to their support to the CDA organization. Scott young, 919 Village Parkway, spoke in regards to the benefits of having CDA in Coppell. Christina Vander Westhillzen, 625 Parkway Blvd., spoke in regards to allowing the use of Wagon Wheel game fields as practice fields while parks are under construction to give CDA field access. Cesar Alvares, 165 Glendale Dr., spoke in regards to fulfilling the vision of Coppell by providing fields for the children to play on. Angela Lancaster,1006 Forestwood, spoke in regards to the process of field allocation. Justin Keller, 500 Fieldcrest Circle, spoke in regards to field allocation and limited space available. Greg Corry, 229 Magnolia Dr., spoke in regards to the CVSA academy teams. Greg Holstein, 119 Westwind Dr., spoke in regards to the coaches with CVSA who coach for the passion and are not paid. Michael Mathis, 411 Saddletree, spoke in regards to CYSA's competitive soccer program. Scott Proctor, 102 Lyndsie Dr., spoke in regards to keeping the kids playing soccer in Coppell. Joe Sullivan, 113 Cascade, spoke in regards to the field allocation concerns between CVSA and CDA. Dennis Holder, 205 Glenwood, spoke in regards to field allocation and the availability of fields. Sharon Ford, 220 River Rd., spoke in regards to field allocation and limited space available. Cilyaf Coppell, Texas pada Parks and Recreation Board Minutes March 7, 2016 3. Consider approval of minutes: February 1, 2016 A motion was made by Boardmember Corcomn, seconded by Boardmember Montes, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carded by an unanimous vote. Aye: 6- Chair Jack Clark, Vice Chair Ed Guignon, Boardmember Maureen Corcoran, Boardmember Lisa Montes, Boardmember Melinda Melnick, and Lisa Dunham 4. Discussion regarding field utilization and non -cosponsored organization's requests for use Mr. Guy McLain discussed the process for field allocation. The Board asked questions to a representative from Coppell youth Soccer Association and Coppell Development Academy. The Board will consider this item at a later meeting. 5. Consider approval of the 2016 Project Priority List. A motion was made by Boardmember Corcoran, seconded by Boardmember Montes, that this agenda item be cabled to next months meeting. Youth Advisors Report 7. Directors Report A. Special Events B. Project Update Youth Advisor Nihar Tatapudi informed the Board that he will have a presentation regarding the Holi event. Youth Advisor Kelly Rohe Informed the Board that she is in the process of polling the student body at the High School. A. Music in the Plaza will be held on March 12 and 19 at the Town Center Plaza, Eggstmvaganza will be held on March 26 at Wagon Wheel Park, Earthiest will be held on April 16 at the Town Center Plaza, Food Truck Frenzy will be held on April 23 in Old Town B. Andrew Brown Park Redevelopment project utilities are going in. Parkway Blvd. project engineers doing testing. Chair Report A. Future Agenda Items Nothing to report.
