The Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Coppell met on Monday, February 1,
2016 in the Council Chambers, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas.
Also present were Parks and Recreation Director Brad Reid and Administrative
Support Supervisor Cecilia Gandara.
The purpose of this meeting was to consider the following items:

Chair Clark called the meeting to order at 6:37 pm.

Citizens' Forum: Citizen's should complete a Citizen's Appearance Form. Pursuant to
the State Open Meetings Law, the Board is restricted in discussing or taking action on
items not posted on the Agenda. Action on your statements can only be taken at future
meetings.
Chair Clark asked for those who signed up to speak.
Evelyn Scurry, 128 Meadowglen Circle, expressed her concerns regarding the
Parkway Blvd. bike trail.
Jim Harris, 615 Allen Road, expressed his concern regarding the bicycle
signage on parkway.
Warren Van, 625 Parkway, expressed his concern regarding soccer in Coppell.
Jeff Parry, 442 Clear Creek Lane, expressed his concerns regarding bicyclist,
walkers and vehicles.
Sharon Lander, 824 Parkway, expressed her concerns regarding parking on
Parkway.
Ken Bauer, 1717 E. Belt Line Road, expressed his interest in promoting bicycle
education in Coppell.
Lane Paschal, 701 Cardinal Lane, expressed her train children and adults to
ride better.
Holly Scurry, 105 Cherrybark Lane, expressed her concerns regarding the
Parkway parking as a result of the bicycle path.
John Pauley, 806 Meadowglen Circle, expressed his concerns regarding the
lack of parking on parkway due to the bike trail.
David Stonecipher, 216 Redwood Dr., expressed his support for the Pedestrian
and Bicycle Plan
Randy Randsom, 837 Parkway Blvd., expressed his concerns regarding the
parking issue on Parkway.
Candy Sheehan, 321 Quiet Valley, expressed her support for the bicyclist and
wants to make everyone aware of runners and walkers, specially now that the
park is under construction.
Melissa Horner, 10539 Faulkner, expressed her concerns in promoting bicycle
safety
John Davis, 240 Hollywood Drive, expressed his support for the Pedestrian and
Bicycle Plan.
Chris Herman, 841 Parkway Blvd., expressed his concerns regarding the
parking that will be taken away on Parkway.
Judd Taylor, 715 Bent Tree Court, expressed his support for the Pedestrian
and Bicycle Plan.
Mike Tenbusch, 217 Glenwood Dr., informed the board that he started a
program at Austin Middle school to promote safety. Would like to have a safer
bicycle community in Coppell.
3. Consider approval of minutes: January 4, 2016
A motion was made by Boammember Montes, seconded by Boammember
Guignon, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by an
unanimous vote.

4. Consider approval of the recommendations of the Bicycle and
Pedestrian Master Plan.

Guy McLain, Assistant Director of Recreation, gave a presentation.
A motion was made by Boardmember Guignon, seconded by Boardmember
Corcoran, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by an
unanimous vote.

5. Update regarding the redevelopment of the Andrew Brown Park.
Brad Reid, Director of Parks and Recreation, gave an update on the
redevelopment of the Andrew Brown Park.
6. Consider approval of the 2016 Project Priority List.
A motion was made by Boardmember Montes, seconded by Boardmember
Corcoran, that this agenda item be tabled to next months meeting. The motion
carried by an unanimous vote.

7. Youth Advisor's Report
Youth Advisor Kelly Rohe informed the Board that she has been working on
monitoring bicycle usage at the High School.

A. Be Mine Valentine Dance is on Saturday, February 6 at the CORE, Plaza
Music Series will be March 12 and 19, Eggstravagama will be held March 26.
