OR 91-515 No crossing zones for pedestrians at 1700 to 1800 block of Beltline Rd .AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 91515 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL BY ADDING SECTION 8-5-4; PROVIDING FOR NO CROSSING ZONES FOR PEDESTRIANS IN THE CITY OF COPPELL; DECLARING THE 1700 BLOCK AND 1800 BLOCK OF BELT LINE ROADTO BE A PEDESTRIANNO-CROSSING ZONE; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) FOREACH OFFENSE; PROVIDING AREPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T}EE CITY OF COPPET~., TEXAS: SECTION 1. A~ending Article 8-5, Chapter 8 of the City Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas. Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell is hereby amended by adding a new Section 8-5-4 as follows: "Section 8-5-4. Pedestrian No-Crossing Zone It shall be unlawful for any pedestrian to cross any public street within the corporate limits of the City at a location that has been designated as a 'pedestrian no-crossing zone' and so marked as a 'No Pedestrian Crossing Zone' with signs or street markings. The following locations are hereby designated as 'pedestrian no-crossing zones': A. That part of East West Belt Line Road that lies in the 1700 Block and 1800 Block of said road." SECTION 2. Repealing clause. All parts of ordinances, inconsistent or in conflict with provisions of this ordinance, are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. Severability clause. If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof, other than the parts so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. Penalty clause. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by penalty of fine not to exceed the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense, and each and every day such offense is continued shall constitute a new and separate offense. SECTION 5. Effective date. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after the publication of its caption as the law in such cases provides.
