ORDINANCE NO. 91507
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTIONS 6-2-3,
6-2-4, 6-2-5, 6-2-6, AND 6-2-8 OF ARTICLE 6-2 OF CHAPTER 6 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL KNOWN AS THE STREET AND DOOR TO
DOOR SOLICITORS REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF COPPELL: PROVIDING A
REPEALING CLAUSE: PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. AMENDING SECTION 6-2-3 OR ARTICLE 6-2 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL
That Section 6-2-3 of Article 6-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Coppell shall hereafter read as follows:
SECTION 6-2-3 INVESTIGATION OF APPLICANT
It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to
investigate each applicant before issuance of a
Permit
SECTION 2. AMENDING SECTION 6-2-4 OF ARTICLE 6-2 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL
Section 6-2-4 of Article 6-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Coppell shall hereafter read as follows:
SECTION 6-2-4 ISSUANCE OF PERMIT
It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to issue
or refuse to issue such Permit not earlier than two
(2) days; and, not later than two (2) weeks from the
time the application therefor is received by the
Chief of Police. A fee of fifty dollars ($50.00)
shall be charged per year for the first permit and a
fee of ten dollars ($10.00) shall be charged for
each additional permit issued to the same company
which shall not be prorated; and, shall not be
returned if application is denied.

SECTION 3 AMENDING SECTION 6-2-5 OE ARTICLE 6-2 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL
That Section 6-2-5 Article 6-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Coppell shall hereafter read as follows:
SECTION 6-2-5 REVOCATION OF PERMIT
If, after th~ Permit required by this Article has
been issued, the Chief of Police or other officials
of the City, finds that tb~I Permit was obtained by
false representation in the application, it may be
revoked by the Chief of Police.
SECTION 4 AMENDING SECTION 6-02-6 OF ARTICLE 6-2 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL
That Section 6-2-6 Article 6-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Coppel! shall hereafter read as follows:
SECTION 6-2-6 APPEALS
If the Chief of Police refuses to issue the Permit
required by this Article, or such Permit is revoked
under the above provisions, the applicant shall have
the right to appeal to the City Council at its next
regular meeting.
SECTION 5 ~ENDING SECTION 6-2-8 OF ARTICLE 6-2 OF THE CODE OF
GRDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL
That Suction 6-2-8 of Article 6-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Coppell shall hereafter read as follows:
SECTION 6-2-8 PERMIT FEE MJlY BE WAIVED ~'OR BONA FIDE CHARITABLE
ORGANIZATIONS
Bona Fide Charitable Organizations or their
representatives, are hereby rcqulred to obtain
Permits, as required by this Article; but the fee
may be waived at the direction of the Chief of
Police
SECTIO~ 6 REPEALING CLAUSE
All parts of ordinance, inconsistent or in conflict with the
prov~s~ous of this ordinance are repealed.

SECTION 7 SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any article, paragraph or subdivision , clause of provision of
this ordinance shall be adjudged invaiid or held unconstitutional, the
same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any
part or provision thereof, other than the part so decided to be invalid
or unconstitutional.
SECTION 8 EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage as the law in such cases provides.
DULY PASSED by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas,
