Notice is hereby given that the Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Coppell,
Texas, met in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at 255 E. Parkway Boulevard.
Also present were Parks and Recreation Director Brad Reid and Administrative
Support Supervisor Cecilia Gandara
The purpose of the meeting was to consider the following items:

Chair Clark called the meeting order at 6:32 pm.

2. Citizens' Forum: Citizen's should complete a Citizen's Appearance Form. Pursuant to
the State Open Meetings Law, the Board is restricted in discussing or taking action on
items not posted on the Agenda. Action on your statements can only be taken at future
meetings.
Mark Henry, 611 Canemount, spoke in opposition to the proposed trail at
Magnolia Park.
Mike Hall, 619 Canemount, spoke in opposition to the proposed trail at
Magnolia Park.
Gerry Jacob,148 Levee, spoke in opposition to the proposed tail at Magnolia
Park.
Jack Leathers, 615 Canemount, spoke in opposition to the proposed trail at
Magnolia Park.
Jared Hightower, 137 Natches Trace, spoke in opposition to the proposed trail
at Magnolia Park.
Shad Palavali, 607 Canemount, spoke in opposition to the proposed trail at
Magnolia Park.
Tim Mathwig, 603 Canemount, spoke in opposition to the proposed trail at
Magnolia Park.
Julie Henry, 723 Bankers Cottage Lane, spoke in opposition to the proposed
trail at Magnolia Park.
Ann Jonas, 631 Canemount, would like more information regarding the
Magnolia Park trail project.
3. Annual update by the Coppell Girls Softball Association .
Tom Hardgrove, President of Coppell Girls Softball Association, gave an
update on current activities.
4. Update and discussion regarding the Celebrate Coppell Event.
Kami McGee, Special Events Coordinator, gave an update on the Celebrate
Coppell Event.
5. Consider approval of minutes: February 6, 2017
A motion was made by Boardmember Montes, seconded by Boardmember
Corcoran, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by an
unanimous vote.

6. Division Manager's Report - Sheri Belmont
Sheri Belmont, Recreation Center Manager, gave a report regarding programs
and events at The CORE.
7. Youth Advisors Report
Youth Advisor, Sashank Kothamasu, will have a presentation regarding the
Holi and Dewali event next month.

A. Special Events
B. Project Updates
A. Music in the Plaza is scheduled for March 11, performance by Me and My
Monkey, and March 18, performance by Cheers for Fears.
B. A public meeting regarding DART will be held at the Grapevine Springs
Senior and Community Center. Artsculptures have been installed, the Arts
Council will hold an Art Stroll on Apnl 8th at Old Town.
