Parkway Boulevard. Also present were Parks and Recreation Director Brad Reid and Administrative Services Manager Cecilia Gandara. The purpose of this meeting was to consider the following items: Regular Session (Open to the Public) 1. Call To Order City of Cooper, Texas Chair Clark called the meeting to order at 6:34 pm. Members Present: Chair Jack Clark, Vice Chair Ed Guignon, Boardmember Maureen Corcoran, Boardmember Earl Nesbitt, Alternate Nick Paschal, Boardmember Maria Rohe, Boardmember Earl Rogers, Boardmember Ashish Vaidya, Youth Advisor Joni Goh, and Youth Advisor Nicole Smith Page 1 Parks and Recreation Board Minutes October 1, 2018 2. Citizens' Forum: Citizen's should complete a Citizen's Appearance Form. Pursuant to the State Open Meetings Law, the Board is restricted in discussing or taking action on items not posted on the Agenda. Action on your statements can only be taken at future meetings Chair Clark advised that no one signed up to speak. 3. Annual Update by the Coppell Baseball Association Robert Mallock, President of the Coppall Baseball Association, gave an update in regards to registration numbers and current and future activites. 4. Approval of minutes: September 10, 2018 A motion was made by Boardmember Rogers, seconded by Boardmember Nesbitt, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by an unanimous vote. Chair Jack Clark, Vice Chair Ed Guignon, Boardmember Maureen Corcoran, Boardmember Ead Nesbitt, Boardmember Maria Rohe, Boardmember Ead Rogers, and Boardmember Ashish Vaidya S. Presentation regarding upcoming events and activities. Jessica Carpenter, Assistant Director of Recreation, gave an update on upcoming City Special Events. 6. Current Projects Update A. CHS Connector Trail B. Moore RoadlRiverchase On -Road Trail C. Senior & Community Center Parking Lot John Elias, Special Projects Manager, gave an update on the following projects. A. Mr. Elias met with the HOA to discuss the CHS Connector Trail at Andrew Brown West Park project. B. Staff is planning a public input meeting for the end of October or first part of November to get citizen's input on the Moore RoadlRiverchase on -road trail project. C. Senior Center parking lot expansion construction will begin soon. 7. Youth Advisors Report Youth Advisor Joni Gob expressed her concerns in regards W the maintenance of the nature mils at And raw Brown Park. S. Directors Report A. Arts Center B. RunslWalks C. Pavilion Rentals D. Farmer's Market Winter Hours Director Brad Reid informed the board that there are many projects and city sponsored events being overseen by the department. Along with those Clty or Coppee Texas Paget Parks and Recreation Board Minutes October 1, 2018 projects, there are also many non -city sponsored events scheduled in Parks that have a huge impact to the parks system and the park visitors. A. Bids for the Arts Center construction am being finalized and will go out to bid soon. It has been determined that this facility will be under the Parks and Recreation Department. B. There are seven walksimns scheduled this fall. C. There am 10 pavilions rentals currently scheduled. D. The Farmer's Markel will change their schedule to winter hours, in November. 9. Chair Report A. Future Agenda Items Chair Clark informed the board that he will not be reapplying to serve on the Parks and Recreation Board next year. Boardmember Corcoran informed the board that she will not maplying to serve on the Parks and Recreation Board next year. A. No future agenda items at this time.
