Notice is hereby given that the Crime Control and Prevention District met on
Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 6:03 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at Town
Center, 255 E. Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas.
Also present were City Manager Mike Land, Deputy City Manager Traci Leach, Director
of Finance Jennifer Miller, Assistant Director of Finance Kim Tiehen, Budget
Coordinator Caycle Lay, Director of Engineering Kent Collins, Police Chief Mac
Tristan, Deputy Police Chief Jim Cook and City Secretary Christel Pettinos.
Call to Order
A quorum was present. President Mark Hill called the meeting to order. Vice
President Cliff Long and Board Member Brianna Hinojosa-Flores arrived late to
the meeting.
1. Consider approval of minutes of July 13, 2017.
A motion was made by Wes Mays, seconded by Nancy Yingling, that this
agenda item be approved. The motion passed by an unanimous vote.
2. Review of the Crime Control and Prevention District budget for FY

2018-2019.
Presentation: Jennifer Miller, Director of Finance, made a presentation to the
Crime Control Board.
3. PUBLIC HEARING: A public hearing on the FY 2018-2019 Proposed
Budget for the Crime Control and Prevention District.
Mr. Hill opened the Public Hearing and advised that no one signed up to
speak.
A motion was made by Wes Mays, seconded by Nancy Yingling, to close the
Public Hearing. The motion passed by an unanimous vote.
4. Adoption of the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget for the Crime Control and
Prevention District.
A motion was made by Nancy Yingling, seconded by Brianna Hinojosa-Flores,
that this agenda item be approved. The motion passed by an unanimous vote.
5. Review of the budget calendar for the Crime Control and Prevention
District.
Presentation: Jennifer Miller, Director of Finance, made a presentation to the
Board regarding the budget calendar for the upcoming year. The Public
Hearing Notice will be published on August 17th for the Council Meeting on
August 28th. The dates for the City Council to consider the adoption of the
budget are September 11th or September 25th.
6. Consider election of President and Vice President.
A motion was made by Gary Roden, seconded by Wes Mays, to nominate Cliff
Long as President and Biju Mathew as Vice President. The motion passed by
an unanimous vote.
Adjournment
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
at 6:17 p.m.
