CM 1964-07-15THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DALLAS The Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas met in called meeting on the 15th day of July, 1964, with the following members present, to-wit: W.T. Cozby, Mayor J.R. McDonald, Councilman B.J. Harwell, Councilman C.D- Dobeka, Councilman C.T. Waters, Councilman E.C. Gentry, City Secretary Absent: W. H. Wllson Mayor W. T. Cozby informed the Council that although Mr. E.C. Gentry had submitted his resignation as Tax Assessor and Collector for the Town of Coppell on June 1, 1964, the minutes of that meeting stated only the following: "Mr. Gentry stated that he would like Mr. Scott to continue as Tax Collector. The Council agreed." Mayor Cozby called for a motion which would correct the minutes so as to correctly reflect the action of the Council. Mr. B.J. Harwell stated that in view of the fact that Mr. Gentry did tender his resignation as Tax Assessor and Collector at the council meeting held on June 1, 1964 and in view of the fact that his resignation was accepted by the council on that date and the council appointed a new tax assessor and collector, that he would move that the minutes of that meeting be corrected by adding to them the following: "Mr. E.C. Gentry submitted to the City Council his resignation as Tax Assessor and Collector which was unanimously accepted by the council. Motion,was made, seconded and unanimously carried that Mr. E.D. Scott be appointed Tax Assessor and Collector for the Town of Coppell." The motion was seconded by J.R. McDonald and carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Town Council of the Town of Coppell, Texas, on motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting was adjourned.
