CM 1965-08-16 TATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DALLAS The City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, convened in regular meeting on the 16th day of August, 1965,-with the following members present to-wit: W. T. Cozby, Mayor Thomas Sisk, Councilman Cecil Dobecka, Councilman W. H. Wilson, Councilman Bill Harwell, Councilman Absent: C. T. Waters, Councilman Constituting a quorum where among the other proceedings had was the following: Mrs. Mildred Beeson appeared before the Council and stated that since her husband was ill, she and her sons were operating the garbage collection business. She requested a contract with the City to furnish garbage collection service for the next year. Bill Harwell moved that Mrs. Beeson be granted the contract for garbage collection service for a period of one year or until such time as she fails to give adequate service, with the City receiving 2% of the gross sales to be paid monthly. Thomas Sisk seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. Junior Pruitt appeared before the Council and requested a permit to move a house into Coppell. After discussing the details of his plans for improving the house, Bill Harwell made a motion that said permits be granted and Cecil Dobecka seconded the motion which carried unanimously. TWo permits were then issued to Mr. Pruitt and his check was rendered to the City in the amount of $125.00. Fire Chief Travis Maynard appeared before the Council and presented some bids he had received in regards to purchasing a new fire apparatus. Bill Harwell made a metion that since the next regular meeting of the Council would fall on a holiday, Sept. 6, Labor Day, said meeting be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1965. The motion was seconded by Mr. Wilson and carried unanimously. No further business being presented to the Council at this time and upon a motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Council adjourned. PASSED AND APPROVED, this 16 day of Aug. , 1965. W. T.
