A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS APPROVING THE LEGACY RECOGNITION OF LOU DUGGAN
FOR THE BIODIVERSITY EDUCATION CENTER AT COPPELL
NATURE PARK LOCATED IN THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS TO BE
KNOWN AS `THE LOU DUGGAN BIODIVERSITY EDUCATION
CENTER' AT COPPELL NATURE PARK AS DEPICTED ATTACHED
HERETO AND INCORPORATED HEREIN AS EXHIBIT `A';
PROVIDING FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Lou Duggan has made significant contributions to the vision, promotion,
development and implementation of the Biodiversity Education Center at Coppell Nature Park;
and
WHEREAS, Lou Duggan has served the City as a Councilmember and Mayor; and
WHEREAS, Lou Duggan has served in numerous capacities in community, Chamber of
Commerce and service organizations in the City of Coppell; and,
WHEREAS, Lou Duggan has co-authored the history of this City, and, has sought to
preserve and record the founding and growth of the City of Coppell; and
WHEREAS, Lou Duggan has been a leader and servant to fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to approve a Legacy Recognition in honor of Lou Duggan at
the Biodiversity Education Center at Coppell Nature Park to be known as "The Lou Duggan
Biodiversity Education Center" at Coppell Nature Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COPPELL, TEXAS;
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas hereby approves the
Legacy Recognition of Lou Duggan for the Biodiversity Education Center at Coppell Nature Park,
which shall hereinafter be known as "The Lou Duggan Biodiversity Education Center" at Coppell
Nature Park, which is more particularly depicted in Exhibit `A', attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or his designee take appropriate action to implement
the provisions of this Resolution.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
adoption and it is so resolved.
