ORDINANCE NO. 89450
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, CREATING A
CITIZENS COMMITTEE TO BE KNOWN AS THE COMMUNITY RED CROSS
COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR MEMBERSHIP; ESTABLISHING QUALIFICATIONS
FOR MEMBERSHIP, ESTABLISHING THE PURPOSE FOR SUCH COMMITTEE; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Coppell wishes to
create a Citizens Committee to be known as "The Community Red Cross
Committee" for the purpose of providing information and classes for
the Citizens of Coppoll in CPR, Water Safety and other related
areas of interest.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. In order to provide information and training
for the Citizens of Coppoll in Cardio-
Pulmonary-Resuscitation, First Aid, Water
Safety and other beneficial topics, there is
hereby created a committee to be known as
"Community Red Cross Committee."
SECTION 2. Said Committee shall be comprised of eight (8)
persons appointed by the City Council who have resided within the
corporate limits of the City for one (1) year and are registered
voters qualified to vote in municipal elections. The purpose of
said Conunittee shall be to provide assistance and support to the
American Red Cross Community Chairperson, to insure that sufficient
numbers of trained volunteers are available to provide instruction
and training for the citizens of Coppell.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from
and after its passage as the law in such cases provides.
DULY PASSED by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas,
this the 26th day of September, 1989.
