On April 10, 1967, the Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, met
in special meeting. Those present to-wit: W. T. Cozby, Mayor
B. J. Hatwell, Councilman
C. L. Plumlee, Jr., Councilman
W. H. Wilson, Councilman
C. J. Dobecka, Councilman
Thomas Sisk, Councilman
E. C. Gentry, Secretarv
constituting a quorum where the first order of business was to
consider the election returns of election held in the city on
April 4 1967, for the election of a mayor and two councilmen.
Results of the special votinR machine were noted.
SwearinR of the new mayor (W. T. Cozby) and two councilmen
(Jim McGiboney and C. J. Dobecka) was held by Mr, C. O. Parker.
W. H. Wilson was elected Mayor Pro Tem.

CANVASS OF RETURNS AND DECLARATION OF RESULTS OF
AN ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
ON APRIL 4, 1967, FOR THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR
AND TWO CITY COUNCILMEN
BE IT REMEMBERED THAT on this the 10th day of April,
1967, at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Coppell,
Texas, a quorum being present, the meeting was called to order,
and the following business was transacted.
Upon motion of Councilman Wilson and
seconded by Councilman Sisk it was
unanimously ordered that the City conside; the official
returns of an election held in the City on the 4th day of April,
1967, for the election of a Mayor and Two City Councilmen.
WHEREUPON said official returns were opened, examined,
canvassed and the results declared as follows:
CANVASS OF RETURNS AND DECLARATION OF RESULTS
WHEREAS, heretofore, the City Council of the Cit~ of
Coppell, Texas, called an election to be held in the City of Coppell,
Texas, on April 4, 1967, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and
two (2) City Councilmen to serve for terms commencing April 1967,
and caused notice thereof to be posted in the manner and for the
time provided for by law, which Order, together with the Notice
issued thereon, is recorded in Volume 2, Page 365 of the
Minutes of the City Council and is hereby referred to and made a
part hereof; and
WHEREAS, immediately after said election the Presiding
Judge and other officials holding said election made their returns
of the results thereof to the City Council as follows, to-wit:
Said returns being made according to law, and duly
authenticated, and it being shown that written notice of said
election was posted for the time and in the manner provided by
law and all other proceedings pertaining to said election having
been shown to have been done and performed at and within the time
and in the manner provided by law, and all papers pertaining
thereto having been returned and filed with the City Council and
no protest or objection being made to or regarding any matter
pertaining to said election;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Coppell, Texas, after examining said returns and opening
and canvassing the votes of said election, that the results of
said election are as follows:
That the following number of votes were cast for the
following named candidates for the office of Mayor, to-wit:

-- That the following number of votes were cast for the
following named candidates for the office of City Councilman,
to-wit:

CECIL DOBECKA 172
It appearing that W. T. Cozby received the
largest number of votes for the office of Mayor, and he is hereby
declared to be elected to the office and to serve after qualifying
for the term commencing April 1967.
AND it appearing that Jim McGiboney and
Cecil Dobecka received the largest number of votes
for the office of City Councilmen, and they are hereby declared to
be elected to the office and to serve after qualifying for the
term commencing April 1967.
IT IS, FURTHER, ORDERED that this canvass and the
declaration of results of said election be entered in the Minutes
of the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, and that said
officers, after they have qualified and taken their oaths, shall
serve during the term commencing April 1967 and thereafter until
their successors are duly elected and qualified.
That this Resolution declaring the results of the
election called on April 4, 1967, shall become effective immedia-
tely after its passage.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas,
on this the 10th day of April, 1967

USED IN AN ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS, ON APRIL 4, 1967, FOR THE,ELECTION OF A
MAYOR AND TWO CITY COUNCILMEN
TO THS HONORABLE JUDGE OF SAID COURT:
BE IT REMEMBERED that on the 27th day of March, 1967,
this Court entered an Order directing the City of Coppell, Tens,
to provide an additional and separate voting machine to be used
in the Municipal Election held on April 4, 1967, by those persons
residing in the area heretofore disannexed byI the City of Coppall,
Texas, by City Ordinances Nos. 20 and 28 and that the vote
recorded on said additional voting machine be certified to this
Court.
BE IT FURTHER REMEMBERED that on this the 10th day of
April, I967, at a meeting of the City Council of the City of
Coppell, Tens, a quorum being present, the meeting was called to
order and the following business was transacted.
Upon the motion of Councilman Wilson and
seconded by Councilman Sisk, it was unani-
mously ordered that the City Council consider the vote recorded on
said additional voting machine.
WHEREUPON, the results recorded on said voting machine
by the Election Officials were opened, examined and the results
declared as follows:
That the following number of votes were cast for the
following named candidates for the office of Mayor:

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved by the City Council of.
the City of Coppell, Texas, after examining the results of said
special voting machine, and finding said results to be as afore-
mentioned, that said results be entered in the Minutes Of the
City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, and that a copy of
this Canvass of Returns together with a copy of the report of
the election Judge in regard to said machine be forwarded to the
95th Judicial District Court, Dallas County, Texas, for the
purpose of having the same filed with the papers of the above en-
titled and numbered cause.
The City Council of the CIty of Coppell, Tens, having
heretofore canvassed the official returns and Declaration of
Results of the election held on April 4, 1967, further finds
that even if the votes cast on said special voting machine were
to be considered in the official Canvass of votes in said election,
the results of said election would not be changed.
IT IS, FURTHER, RESOLVED that this Resolution shall
become effective immediately after its passage.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Coppell,
Texas, on this the 10th day of April, 1967.

on oath stated as follows:

Coppell, Texas, and hold as a part of the records of my office
the official Resolutions of the City of Coppell, TexasJ that the
"Canvass of Returns of Special Voting Machine" attached hereto
is a true and correct copy of such Resolution passed by the
City of Coppell, Texas, on the 10th day of April, 1967, the
orginal of which is a part of the of£icial records of my office."
