The Council of the City of Coppel!, Texas, met April 7, 1969,
regular session with the following members present to-wit:
W. T. Cozby, Mayor
Thomas Sisk, Councilman
John Dobecka, Councilman
Jim McGiboney, Councilman
E. C. Gentry, Secretary
W. H. Wilson, Councilman
where among other proceedings had, was the following:
bbtion was made by Jim McGiboney to adopt a resolution from the
Department of Housing and Urban Development as stated in an Amendatory
Offer providing for certain changes in the Loan Agreement (~ec

Motion was seconded by Dobecka and vote carried unanimously.
The City Secretary presented bills for payment:

Jim McGiboney made a motion, seconded by John Dobecka, that the bills
be paid as presented. Vote carried unanimously.
Mrs. Margaret Lambright appeared before the Council requesting a
trailer permit. Vote was taken and after a tie vote (2 for, 2
against) request was tabled for next meetino.
Mr. Styher, City Engineer, met with the Council and presented plans
and cost estimates of sewer extensions.
Returns of the city election held April 5, 1969, were canvassed.
As a result of the April 5th election, oath of office was administer-
ed to Mayor W. T. Cozby and Councilmen Jim McGiboney and John Dobecka.
Jim McGiboney nominated W. ~. Wilson as new Mayor Pro Tem. Mr. Wilson
was elected by acclamation.

CANVASS OF RETURNS AND DECLARATION OF RESULTS OF
AN ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
ON APRIL 5, 1969, FOR THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR
AND TWO CITY COUNCILMEN
BE IT REMEMBERED THAT on this the 7 day of April,
1969, at a meeting of the City Council of th~ City of Coppell,
Texas, a quorum being present, the meeting was called to order,
and the following business was transacted.
Upon motion of Councilman Thomas Sisk and
seconded by Councilman John Dobecka , it was
unanimously ordered that i~%h%i~yb%coku%cil conside'r the official
returns of an election held in the City on the 5th day of April,
1969, for the election of a Mayor and Two City Councilmen.
WHEREUPON said official returns were opened, examined,
canvassed and the results declared as follows:
CANVASS OF RETURNS AND DECLARATION OF RESULTS
WHEREAS, heretofore, the City Council of the City of
Coppell, Texas, called an election to be held in the City of Coppell,
Texas, on April 5, 1969, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and
two (2) City Councilmen to serve for terms commencing April 1969,
and caused notice thereof to be posted in the manner and for the
time provided for by law, which Order, together with the Notice
issued thereon, is recored in The Minutes of the City Council and
is hereby referred to and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, immediately after said election the Presiding
Judge and other officials holding said election made their returns
of the results thereof to the City Council as follows, and said
returns being made according to law, and duly authenticated, and
it being shown that written notice of said election was posted for
the time and in the manner provided by law and all other proceed-
ings pertaining to said election having been shown to have been
done and performed at and within the time and in the manner pro-
vided by law, and all papers pertaining thereto having been return-
ed and filed with the City Council and no protest or objection
being made to or regarding any matter pertaining to said election;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Coppell, Texas, after examining said returns and opening
and canvassing the votes of said election, that the results of said
election are as follows:
That the following number of votes were cast for the
following named candidates for the office of Mayor, to-wit:

TLat the following number of votes were cast for the
following named candidates for the office of City Councilman,

JAMES C. McGIBONEY 99
JOHN DOBECKA 94
JAMES J. GILCHRIST 55
It appearing that W. T. Cozby received the
largest number of votes for the office of Mayor, and he is hereby
declared to be elected to the office and to serve after qualifying
for the term commencing April 1969.
AND it appearing that James C. McGiboney and
John Dobecka received the largest number of votes
for the office of City Councilmen, and they are hereby declared to
be elected to the office and to serve after qualifying for the
term commencing April 1969.
IT IS, FURTHER, ORDERED that this canvass and the declar-
ation of results of said election be entered in the Minutes of the
City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, and that said officers,
after they have qualified and taken their oaths, shall serve during
the term commencing April 1969, and thereafter until their successors
are duly elected and qualified.
That this Resolution declaring the results of the election
called on April 5, 1969, shall become effective immediately after
its passage.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas,
on this the 7th. day of April, 1969.
