CM 1974-10-02STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF DALLAS
The City Council of the City of Coppell met in special called session on October
2, 1974, in City Hall.
The following members were present:
Hulen Scott, Mayor
Sam Tiner, Mayor Pro Tem
Frank Wilkins, Councilman
Don Carter, Councilman
Bill Harris, Councilman
Hazel Beal, Councilwoman
Also present were City Administrator George Campbell and City Secretary
Dorothy Timmons.
The meeting was called to order and everyone asked to stand while Councilman
Wilkins gave the invocation.
The only item to be discussed on tonight's agenda was the repair or replacement
of a police vehicle. City Administrator George Campbell stated that they had
received three different written estimates for the repair of the car. These
estimates were from Lee Jarmon for $1,485.95, Jack Hines for $1,339.39, and
Herb's Paint and Body Shop for $1,30Z. 14. In addition to the repairs needed on
the car, the motor needs to be overhauled. This cost would be approximately
$700. An expert opinion was also given that if the car is repaired properly, the
driving mechanism would probably not give any trouble.
Following a lengthy discussion on this subject, Councilman Carter moved that
the car be repaired by Herb's Paint and Body Shop for the approximate estimate
of $1,302. ~4 and that it be driven for 30 days before the motor is overhauled; -'~
Councilman Harris seconded and motion carried 4-1 with Councilman Wilkins
against and the mayor showing his approval.
The meeting was then adjourned.
Hulen A. Scott, Mayor
