RE 2000-08-15.1 RESOLU TION NO. 2OO00815. I A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND RESTRICTING THE USE OF WATER FOR LAWN OR GARDENING OR IRRIGATION PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 3, SECTION 3-1-12 (B) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Coppell purchases its water from an outside source; and WHEREAS, such source has declared Phase II restrictions and that further restrictions are likely as the result of drought conditions; and WHEREAS, local demand for lawn and gardening and irrigation needs have caused serious depletion of the City's water supply. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That City Council hereby declares a Phase II, State of Emergency in accordance with Chapter 3, Section 3-1-12 (B) of the Code of Ordinance and authorizes the City Manager to undertake the full panoply of actions in accordance therewith. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage, as the law and charter in such cases provide, and continue until September 15, 2000 or until further action of this City Council.
