MINUTES
The Coppell Economic Development Committee met at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2000 at
Coppell Town Center, 2nd Floor Conference Room, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas 75019. The
following were present: Bruce Bradford, Tim Brancheau, Bill Herries, Scarlett Hovland, Stan Morton, Bill
Rohloff, Andrea Roy, Gary Sieb, Jay Thompson, and Councilmembers Marsha Tunnell and Doug Stover.
Call to Order
Chairman Bill Rohloff called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Approval of Minutes
It was moved by Bill Herries and seconded by Bruce Bradford that the minutes of the July 5, 2000
meeting be approved. The motion passed unanimously.
Introduction of Andrea Roy
Gary Sieb introduced Andrea Roy, newly hired City Planner who will serve as Committee Liaison.
Consideration of a request by Catellus Commercial Group for Tax Abatement
The Catellus Commercial Group rescheduled for the September meeting.
Update on Freeport Exemption Participation
Tim Brancheau presented an update on Freeport Exemption Participation. Tim announced that 19
of the 29 companies have signed the agreement. Tim, Committee Members and Developers have
made contacts with some of the companies that have not signed the agreements. Tim Brancheau
and City Manager Jim Witt met with various developers to discuss making up the revenue shortfall
not paid through the companies. The developers have committed to make up the shortfall. Tim
Brancheau will draft a letter to the developers after August 7, 2000 stating the amount of the
revenue shortfall for the Freeport Exemption. The Committee commended Tim for his time,
energy, and work on the Freeport Exemption project.
