Notice is hereby given that the Library Advisory Board of the City of Coppell, Texas,
met in the 2nd Floor Conference Room of Town Center at 255 E. Parkway Boulevard at
7 p.m.
Regular Session (Open to the Public)
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Library Board Chair Carla Madrigal at 7:02
p.m,
Also present were Library Board Members Anne Diamond, Martha Garber, Seth
L. Phillips, Haridas Radhakrishnan, Radhika Rajgopal Singh; Alternate Board
Members Elizabeth Mink and Manisha N. Pagedar; and Youth Advisors Ananya
Gogula and Malya A. Krishna.
Library Board Member Frank Gasparro attended via ZOOM.
Staff in attendance were Library Manager Alexis Wellborn and Administrative
Services Coordinator Laurie Arnold.

3. Approval of Minutes from May 8, 2025
Board Member Haridas Radhakrishnan moved to approve the Minutes from
May 8, 2025, as presented. Board Vice Chair Anne Diamond seconded the
motion. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
4, Youth Advisor's Report
Youth Advisors Maiya A. Krishna and Ananya Gogula discussed ideas to
improve the Llbrary's social media in order to reach more teens; share what's
available in the Library with teens; and make the Library's website more easily
accessible to teens.
5. Final Review and Discussion of Amended Bylaws of the Cozby Library
and Community Commons Library Advisory Board
Board Member Martha Garber moved to approve the changes to the Amended
Bylaws of the Cozby Library and Community Commons’ Library Advisory Board
as submitted. Board Member Radhika Rajgopal Singh seconded the motion.
The motion carried by unanimous vote.
6. Library Manager’s Report
Library Manager, Alexis Wellborn, reviewed statistics, programs and
operations for the library.
The 2025 Summer Reading season commenced with 630 attendees at the
Annual Summer Reading Kickoff.
Water remediation was required after a strong storm caused several leaks
inside the Library on June 3rd. Staff worked diligently to clean and prepare
prior to opening and the Library opened on schedule.
The Library will be closed on June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth
holiday.
Library Supervisor, Morgan Pritchett, will be leaving the Library effective June
20th.
The Library Board is appointed by Council. The Board works in an advisory
capacity with a focus on services and procedures. Additionally, the board
assists with youth advisors, strategic planning, and if necessary,
reconsideration requests.
‘The Friends of the Coppell Public Library is a volunteer organization and the
fund raising arm for the Library. They are an independent entity. Special
projects can be taken to the Friends; however, the Friends have the ability to
decide what projects to support.
Upcoming Programs of Note - Summer Reading Theme is "Color Your World"
- Art Contest with different age groups - submission deadline is June 30th.

- Splish Splash Storytimes - Friday mornings during Summer Reading at the
CORE.
~ Movie Mondays - Family and Teen Movie Mondays during Summer Reading
at 3pm. Popcorn will be served.
7, Adjournment
There being no further business before the Library Advisory Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 7:33 p.m.
