Irving LEGAL Classifieds (214) 675-6493 amandac@ramblertm.org Some members of the Lin- dale community have re- sponded negatively to an arti- cle we published in the Lindale News on June 26, 2025: “City of Roses Celebrates Pride Month.” A few readers chose to can- cel their subscriptions, while others expressed their disap- pointment in the story and in Lindale News itself. We want to take this oppor- tunity to clarify our position on choosing stories. When Christ was asked which commandment was the greatest, He offered two in re- ply. The second can be found in Mark 12:31: “The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” There is no “Mark 12:31b” that reads: “unless, of course, your neighbor doesn’t speak your language, was born in another country, is too short, loves differently than you, dresses differently, expresses themselves differently, eats foods you don’t like, commit- ted adultery, or has a criminal record.” Christ made it clear and simple: Love your neighbor. We strive to live our faith ev- ery day, and we hope that is re- flected in our publications and in the stories we choose to cov- er. We will, to the best of our ability, create a newspaper for the entire community of Lin- dale and the surrounding area. We will not exclude anyone based on superficial features or human frailty. We are saddened to know that some in our community did not appreciate this story. We understand that no single article will speak to everyone. But we publish many stories, on many subjects, and we hope that our readers will con- tinue to find much to appreci- ate in our pages. Large numbers of travelers are expected on Texas roads this holiday weekend, which means more breakdowns and traffic stops are likely as well. Drivers should pay attention to what’s happening around them and prepare to react quickly. Failure to follow the state’s Move over or Slow Down law could result in hefty fines and possible jail time. SOURCE TDLR Austin—The Texas Depart- ment of Licensing and Reg- ulation is releasing a public service video as an emotional reminder to do your part to keep emergency responders safe. In the video, tow compa- ny owner Tasha Mora talks about the devastation that can happen when drivers don’t follow the Move Over or Slow Down law. “I have attended funerals of tow truck company owners who were husbands and fa- thers and grandfathers,” Mora said. “We’re asking you to help save our lives. Move over or slow down when you see a tow truck on the roadside.” Texas’ Move Over or Slow Down law requires drivers to
