PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE HELD BEFORE THE PLANNING AND ZON-
ING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRVING, TEXAS,

1. Amending Section 1.12 “Zoning map amendments (rezoning)” by adding
that no zoning change application for an “S-P” zoning district shall be accept-
ed if a Special Exception has been denied by the Board of Adjustment.
2. Repealing and replacing UDC Section 1.15 “Special Exceptions” to estab-
lish a purpose and intent, application procedure, reapplication and expiration
provisions, and minimum criteria for approving carports within a front setback
by the Board of Adjustment.
3. Amending Section 3.1.8 “Carports” to amend the carport development
standards.
4. Amending Section 6.6.8 “Board of Adjustment – Powers” to clarify the abil-
ity of the Board of Adjustment to hear and decide appeals of administrative
decisions, special exceptions, and variances.
