ORDINANCE NO. 296
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING SUBSECTION
A OF SECTION 9-7-1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO CONSTRUCT OR LOCATE A METAL BULIDING OR A
BUILDING WITH A METAL ROOF WITHIN THAT PORTION OF THE CITY OF COPPELL
WHICH LIES WEST OF ALLEN ROAD AND SOUTH OF A LINE 500 FEET NORTH AND
PARALLEL TO THE NORTHERN MOST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF SANDY LAKE ROAD;
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABLIITY CLAUSE;
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. AMENDING SUBSECTION A OF SECTION 9-7-1 OF CODE OF ORDINANCES
That Subsection A of Section 9-7-1 of The City of Coppe]] Code of Ordinances
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"A. It shah be unlawful for any person to construct or locate a metal
building or a building with a metal roof within that portion of the
City of Coppel] which lies west of Allen Road and south of a line
500 feet north and parallel to the northern most right-of-way line
of Sandy Lake Road"
SECTION 3. REPEALING CLAUSE
All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, inconsistent or in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause or provision of this ordinance
shah be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional the same shah not affect the validity
SECTION 5. PENALTY CLAUSE
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shah be punished by a
penalty of fine not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Do]Jars ($200.00) for each offense,
and each and every day such offense is continued shah constitute a new and separate
offense.
SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after the publication of
its caption, as the law in such cases provides.
