ORDINANCE NO. 287A3
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, APPROVING AND
GRANTING A VARIANCE TO THE SIGN CODE OF THE CITY FOR TRILAND
DEVELOPMENT COMPANY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, First Security TRILAND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, has made
application for' a variance to the Sign Code of the City to permit two pole signs to to
be located and maintained on property adjacent to LBJ Freeway; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that a variance should be
granted to permit the location of such signs; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City has concluded its public hearing
on said application; NOW, THEREFORE;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a variance is hereby granted Triland Development Company,
to permit the location of two pole signs at the locations shown on Exhibit "D" attached
hereto subject to the following conditions:
A. Such signs shall comply with the conditions stated in the site plan
attached hereto as Exhibit "A," except that the signs shall be no greater
than 50 feet in height from existing grade and no greater than 20 feet
by 48 feet in dimension.
B. Spare on both signs may be leased for advertising, except as limited
by Section F of the site plan. Both signs will have on the pole a
second sign with dimensions of 5 feet by 20 feet reading on both sides
"WELCOME q[O COPPELL" or such other statement as may be selected
by the City Council. See Exhibits "B" and "C".
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from an~l
after its passage, as the law in such cases provRjes.

The sign structure will meet all standards and specifications
of the City of ~ Ordinances.
F. THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES OF ADVERTISING WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
OR DISPLAYED ON THIS SIGN STRUCTURE:
1. Alcoholic beverages
2. Tobacco products
3. X-rated movies
4. Massage parlors or steam baths
5. Nude modeling studios
6. Establishments with nude or semi-nude employees
7. Rock music establishments
8. Political candidates
9. Feminine or masculine hygiene products or services
10, Abortion clinics
11. Bars or night clubs
12. Any other type of advertising of prurient nature or in conflict
with socially accepted standards.
G. TRAFFIC IMPACT
This sign will have NO moving parts, NO moving or flashing
lights, NO message center (moving words) or any other element
distractive to traffic
