OR 287-A-1 First Security Band & Trust AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 287A1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, APPROVING AND GRANTING A VARIANCE TO THE SIGN CODE OF THE CITY FOR FIRST SECURITY BANK & TRUST; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, First Security Bank & Trust of Coppell, Texas, has made application for a variance to the Sign Code of the City to permit its non-conforming pole sign to remain in operation after repair of damage, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that applicant's pole sign was, prior to it being damaged, permitted to exist as a non-conforming sign until August 9, 1988; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that a variance should be granted to permit the continued use of such sign as a non-conforming sign even though the applicant was not able to bring the sign into compliance with the Sign Code after making such repairs; and WHEREAS, the governing body of the City has concluded its public hearing on said application; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a variance is hereby granted First Security Bank & Trust of Coppe]l, Texas, to permit its pole sign located at the corner of Sanders Loop and Beltline Road, to remain in operation as a non-conforming sign even though repairs to the damaged sign did not bring it into compliance with the provisions of the Code. That such sign shall not lose its non-conforming right to remain in place until August 9, 1988, as provided in Section 10-8-4 of the Coppell Code of Ordinances, provided the sign continues to operate properly. In this regard, it is ordered that the sign be turned off if it fails to operate properly. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, as the law in such cases provides.
