BM 2000-11-16 KCBKeep Coppell Beautiful Minutes of November 16, 2000 The Keep Coppell Beautiful Committee met on November 16, 2000 at 7pm in the Planning conference room at Town Center, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas. The following members were present; Diana Sircar, Barbara Piels, Pat Lambert, Scott Braugh, Jeannie Farrier, and Thomas Guidry, Jr. and Amanda Vanhoozier, City of Coppell, liaison. Member not present was: Julia Petty Item one: Call to Order - Amanda Vanhoozier called the meeting to order. Item two: Approval of Minutes from October 19, 2000 Meeting -Diana made a motion to approve the minutes and Pat seconded the motion. Minutes were approved. Item three: Citizen's Forum - There were no citizens present. Item four: Nomination and approval of 00-01 Chair and co-chair - The committee approved Diana Sircar, Chairperson and Jeannie Farrier, Co-chairperson. Item five: Texas Recycles Day Report and Evaluation - The committee filled out an evaluation form and received a draft of the final report. Suggestions were made to increase public announcements with posters in stores that support recycling, banner at Sandy Lake and Macarthur, bigger yard signs, paid advertising in newspapers with drop-off items bulleted, and DMN Events and Channel 8 week-end events. Location more visual with activity close to the road. The committee suggested approaching Coppell Ace Hardware about having the event in their parking lot next year. Also look at moving the event up into October before the daylight savings time change. Item six: Adopt-a-Location Status and Action- CHS ninth grade Team Leadership has adopted the South campus and Sonic Drive as a community service project. They will do pick-up weekly with the various ninth grade classes. CHS Student Council has picked up application for adopting AB Central. Keep Coppell Beautiful will move to Beltline Rd. from Denton Tap to Moore Rd. Target is interested in adopting a Coppell location. The committee discussed the southside of Spur 533 from Denton Tap to Macarthur Blv. Item seven: Clean Texas Application - The committee approved to complete the application at the Partner Level. Item eight:Keep America Beautiful Pre-training - Thomas, Pat, Barbara and Amanda will meet for a pre-training with Keep Texas Beautiful representative on Thursday, Nov. 30th, 6pm at Town Center. Item nine: New Business to be placed on next meeting's agenda - Adopt a Location agreement. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 Next meeting: January 18, 2001, 7pm, Planning Conf. Room AT TOWN CENTER.
