ORDINANCE NO. 2001938
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
APPROVING RATE SCHEDULES FOR TXU GAS DISTRIBUTION,
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR, PROVIDING
CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH RATE SCHEDULES MAY BE
CHANGED, MODIFIED, AMENDED OR WITHDRAWN; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That February 16, 2001, TXU Gas Distribution (hereinafter referred to as
"TXU Gas") filed with the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, a Statement of Intent to
implement within the corporate limits of the City proposed new rate schedules (hereinafter referred
to as "Proposed Tariffs").
SECTION 2. That the February 16, 2001 Proposed Tariffs increase of 1.03% is hereby
approved, and TXU Gas is authorized to render service and to collect charges as specified herein
from its customers receiving gas service within the corporate limits of this City until such time as
said Tariffs may be changed, modified, amended or withdrawn with the approval of the City
Council of the City of Coppell.
SECTION 3. That if any other city in the Northwest Metro/Mid Cities Distribution
System negotiates a settlement with TXU Gas Distribution as a result of its February 16, 2001 rate
filing and such results in rates that are less than the proposed rates as provided herein, then the
Company shall agree to the same settlement rate and terms shall be provided and this Ordinance
shall be amended accordingly.

SECTION 4. That customers in the City of Coppell will not be surcharged for any rate
case expenses associated with the Statement of Intent or any appeal to the Railroad Commission of
Texas, should one be filed.
SECTION 5. That the Proposed Tariffs shall be effective on and after June 21, 2001.
SECTION 6. That the filing of said Proposed Tariffs shall constitute notice to the
consumers of gas within the City of such Proposed Tariffs.
SECTION 7. That nothing in this Ordinance contained shall be construed now or hereafter
as limiting or modifying in any manner the right and power of the City Council of the City of
Coppell under the law to regulate the rates, operations, and services of TXU Gas.
SECTION 8. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage
and the publication of the caption, as the law and charter in such cases provide.
DULY PASSED by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas, this the 6th day
