ORDINANCE NO. 98845
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING CHAPTER 2,
ARTICLE 2-7 BY CHANGING THE NUMBER OF BOARD MEMBERS
FROM FIVE (5) TO SEVEN (7); PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinance of the City of Coppell, Texas be, and the same is
hereby amended by amending Chapter 2, Article 2-7, Section 2-7-2 in part to read as follows:
"See. 2-7-2. Appointment
A. The Coppell Telecommunications Board shall consist of seven (7)
members, two (2) alternates, appointed by the City Council and on (1)
ex-officio member to be appointed by the City Manager and approved
by the City Council. Members shall be registered voters and residents
of the City of Coppell for at least twelve (12) months preceding the
date of appointment.
SECTION 2. In order to provide for staggered terms of office for the additional regular
members provided for herein, one (1) additional regular member will be initially appointed for a one (1)
year term and one (1) additional regular member shall be initially appointed for a two (2) year term.
Thereafter appointments for such positions, except for an appointment to fill a vacancy which shall be
filled for the unexpired term, shall be for two (2) year terms.

SECTION 3. That all provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas, in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all other
provisions not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. That should any word, phrase, paragraph, section or phrase of this ordinance
or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the
same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole, or any part or provision thereof other
than the pan so decided to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, and sball not affect the validity of the
Code of Ordinances as a whole.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately ~om and after its passage and
the publication of the caption, as the law and charter in such cases provide.
