OR 218 General Obligation Bond Election ORDINANCE NO. 218 AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A BOND ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 21ST DAY OF JUNE, 1980 THE STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF DALLAS § CITY OF COPPELL § WHEREAS, this governing body, by ordinance duly passed and adopted, made provision for an election to be held within this City on the 21st day of June, 1980, for the purpose of submitting certain propositions for the issuance of general obligation bonds to the resident, qualified electors of the City; and WHEREAS, the returns of the said election have been made to this governing body and from an examination of those returns, it appears that the same was held in accordance with the authorized proceedings and was in all respects legally held after due notice had been given, and the said returns duly and legally made, and other instruments, showed the following results: PROPOSITION NO. 1 FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $1,600,000 GENERAL OBLI- GATION STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS 111 Votes; AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $1,600,000 GENERAL OBLI- GATION STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS 337 Votes; PROPOSITION NO. 2 FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $1,700,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION MUNICIPAL COMPLEX BONDS 75 Votes; AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $1,700,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION MUNICIPAL COMPLEX BONDS 368 Votes; PROPOSITION NO. 3 FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $345,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION FIRE STATION AND FIRE TRAINING FACILITIES BONDS 164 Votes; AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $345,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION FIRE STATION AND FIRE TRAINING FACILITIES BONDS 283 Votes; PROPOSITION NO. 4 FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $250,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION LIBRARY BONDS 124 Votes; AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $250,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION LIBRARY BONDS 319 Votes; PROPOSITION NO. 5 FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $200,000 GENERAL OBLI- GATION PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES BONDS 169 Votes; AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $200,000 GENERAL OBLI- GATION PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES BONDS 278 Votes; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS: Section 1. That all of the recitals contained in the preamble of this Ordinance are found to be true and are adopted as findings of fact by this governing body and as part of its judgment. Section 2. It is further found and determined that the results of the election as canvassed and tabulated in the preambie hereof reflect the expressed desires of the resident, qualified electors. Section 3. That in conformity with law, this governing body is no{ authorized to issue bonds on behalf of said City in the amounts and for the purposes mentioned in the propositions set forth in the proceedings calling the election.
