ORDINANCE NO. 206A3
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 206, THE CITY OF COPPELL CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE ORDINANCE, TO
PROVIDE THAT GRANTEE SHALL CONDUCT AN ANNUAL MAILING TO GRANTEE'S
SUBSCRIBERS WHICH WILL GIVE NOTIFICATION TO SUCH CUSTOMERS OF THE
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE EVENT THE CUSTOMER WISHES TO MAKE
A COMPLAINT; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS.
SECTION 1. AMENDING SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE NO. 206, THE COPPELL
CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE ORDINANCE
That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 206, The City of Coppell Cable Television
Franchise Ordinance, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 9. COMPLAINT PROCEDURE
Grantee shall maintain a business office or a toll-free telephone listing
in the City for the purpose of receiving inquiries and complaints from its
eustomers and the general public. Grantee shall investigate all complaints
within five (5) days of their receipt and shall in good faith attempt to
resolve them swiftly and equitably. The following City officials shall be
responsible for receiving and aeting upon any unresolved eompla~ints: City
Manager. Written notice of this complaint procedure, including the identity
of the City official responsible for receiving unresolved complaints, shall
be lmailed annually to each subseriber."
1. The underlined words are added by this amendment, remaining portion of Section 9
remains the same as originally adopted.
SECTION 2. 8EVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause or provision of this ordinance
shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shah not affect the validity
of this ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof, other than the part so
decided to be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after the publication of
its caption, as the law in such eases provides,
