ORDINANCE NO. 180A2
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION
3-1-6 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS TO
READ AS FOLLOWS: "ANY PERSON WISHING TO DISCONTINUE THE USE OF WATER
SUPPLIED FROM THE WATERWORKS SYSTEM MUST GIVE NOTICE THEREOF TO
THE CITY, OTHERWISE THE CHARGE WILL BE ENTERED UNTIL SUCH NOTICE
HAS BEEN GIVEN. THE CHARGE FOR SHUTTING OFF AND TURNING ON OF SUCH
SERVICES SHALL BE TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00) PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. AMENDING COPPELL CODE OF ORDINANCES
That Section 3-1-6 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas,
be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 3-1-6 DISCONTINUANCE OF WATER SERVICE
Any person wishing to discontinue the use of water supplied from
the Waterworks System must give notice thereof to the City,
otherwise the charge will be entered until such notice has been
given. The charge for shutting off and turning on of such services
shall be twenty dollars ($20.00)."
SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause or provision of this ordinance
shah be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity
of this ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof, other than the part so
decided to be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shah take effect immediately from and after its passage as the
law in such eases provides.
