AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING CHAPTER 8,
ARTICLE 3, SECTION 1B BY PROHIBITING STOPPING, STANDING OR
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDE OF
SAMUEL BOULEVARD AND THE SOUTH SIDE OF WOODMOOR DRIVE
ON SCHOOL DAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:30 AM TO 8:30 AM
AND FROM 2:15 TO 3:45; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY
OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS
(200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

B. NO PARKING ON CERTAIN STREETS IN CERTAIN
SCHOOL ZONES
It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand or park a vehicle in
violation of any official sign, curb marking or street marking that
prohibits, regulates or restricts the stopping standing or parking except
when necessaxy to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance
with the Law or the direction of a Police Officer or Traffic Control
Officer or Traffic Control Device on school days between the hours of
7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and fi'om 2:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. for the
following streets or portions thereoff
Moore Road (at Barbara S. Austin Elementary School) on the east
and west side l?om 153 feet north of the centerline of Pheasant Lane to
the north right-of-way line of Shadow Crest.
Mockingbird Lane (at Mockingbird Middle School) on the east side
~-om the north right-of-way line of Falcon Lane to the north right-of-
way line of Vitlawood Lane.
Samuel Boulevard (at Richard Lee Elementary School) on the east
and west side ~'om the north fight-of-way line of Sandy Lake Road to
the south right-of-way line of Alendale Drive.
Woodmoor Drive (at Richard Lee Elementary School) on the south
side ~om the east right-of-way line of Samuel Boulevard to the west
right-of-way line of Marlee Circle."
SECTION 2. That all provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Texas, in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and all other
provisions not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance sha/l remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. That should any word, phrase, paragraph, section or phrase of this ordinance
or of the Code of 0 rdinances, as amended hereby, be held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the
same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole, or any part or provision thereof other
than the part so derided to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, and shall not affect the validity of the
Code of Ordinances as a whole.
SECTION 4. An offense committed before the effective date of this ordinance is governed by
prior law and the provisions of the Code of Ordinances, as amended, in effect when the offense was
committed and the former law is continued in effect for this purpose.
SECTION 5. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions or terms of
this ordinance or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City of Coppell, Texas, shall be subject to a fine not to
exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense, and each and every day such
violation is continued shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after ks p~a~e
the publication of the caption, as the law and charter in such cases provide.
