BM 2002-04-18 KCBKeep Coppell Beautiful Minutes of April 18, 2002 The Keep Coppell Beautiful Committee met on April 18, 2002 at 7pm in the Second Floor Conference Room at Town Center, 255 Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas. The following members were present; Thomas Guidry, Jr, Chairperson, Julia Petty, Co-Chairperson, Becky Moore, Pat Lambert and Amanda Vanhoozier, City of Coppell, liaison. Not Present: Judi Smith Item 1: Item 2: Item 3: Item 4: Item 5: Item 6: Item 7: Item 8: Item 9: Item 10: Call to Order - Thomas Guidry called the meeting to order. Approval of Minutes from March 21, 2002- Minutes were approved as written. Citizen's Forum - No citizens were present. Acceptance of Mark Hoffman's resignation.- The committee accepted the resignation of Mark Hoffman. Discussion KCB promotional booth at Clean Coppell to increase Community Involvement (Community Involvement-Thomas) Thomas will man the KCB booth. The committee discussed having some give aways, brochure, Liberty Garden survey, and pictures of activities at the booth. Discussion of Education Status and report on the NCTCOG 2002 Solid Waste Project- The committee discussed educating the public on the 600 closed and abanded landfills in North Central Texas. Amanda will add this to the Did you Know along with information about the use of the DFW Landfill. The project has been approved and the interlocal agreements have been received by the city of Coppell. Discussion on tour of Living Earth Technology - Pat informed the committee about a possible tour of the compost facility, Living Earth Technologies. The committee would like to have an evening tour starting at 5:30 or 6pm if possible. The Master Composters would also be invited. Discussion of event tasks for Clean Coppell - Earthfest - The committee reviewed the tasks and volunteers to help with the event. There is over 40 volunteers to help with that day and all tasks are covered. Report on KAB Litter Index and high priority areas- The KAB Litter Index for the city of Coppell was 1.4. Finalizing the Adopt-a-Location service recognition plaques- Becky described the 9 plaques that will be given to: Five years- Coppell High School Student Council Baha'I Faith of Coppell Six Years- Coppell High School National Honors Society Seven Years- Citizen' s Advocate Coppell/ValleyRanch Early Childhood PTA Coppell Family YMCA Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Coppell 2nd Eight Years- City of Coppell Town Center Employees Tejas Council of Girl Scouts Item 11: Item 12: Discussion and action on Liberty Garden proposal development- The committee tabled action until after the survey results were reported at the May meeting. Business to be placed on next meeting's agenda- Waste Management Speaker from Ft. Worth., KCB logo, Report on Clean Coppell, Survey results on the Liberty Garden.
