AN ORDINANCE OF TtIE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING
THE CITY OF COPPELL "MECHANICAL CODE," AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE
NO. 102, BY DELETING PAGE 18 DEALING WITH "PERMIT FEES" AND
SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR NEW PAGES 18, 18A AND 18B, SO AS TO ADOPT
A NEW SCHEDULE OF PERMIT FEES FOR THE ISSUANCE OF MECHANICAL
PERMITS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Mechanical Code of the City
of Coppell, Texas, adopted by Ordinance No. 102, be, and the
same is hereby amended by deleting said Page 18 of said adopted
Code and substituting therefor the following Pages 18, 1SA and
18B:

(c) Suspension or Revocation. The Building Official may,
in writing, suspend or revoke a permit issued under pro-
visions of this Code whenever the permit is issued in error
or on the basis of incorrect information supplied, or in viola-
tion of any ordinance or regulation or any of the provisions
of this Code.
Perralt Fees Sec. 304. (a) Fee. Any person desiring a permit required
by this Code shall before such permit is issued, pay a fee
as required by this section. Fees may be credited until the
end of the month in which issued. At the end of each cal-
endar month, the Building Inspection Division shall render
a statcment to the person, firm or corporation and all charges
zhall bo paid to the City not later than the 15th of the
succeeding month. Failure to pay such charges as herein
pro~, ded shall automatically suspend the permits issued on
which fees are not paid and shall operate as a forfeitul%
of the right of such p~rson, firm or corporation to obtain
subsequent permits or other~vise engage in the installation,
repair, or maintenance of work as berein defined until such
charges are paid. The City at its option may institut~ litiga-
tion to obtain payment of such indebtedness.

statement setting forth the approximate building
&rea in square feet in the case of new construc-
tion or the total market value of the proposed
Work ~ncluding equipment, devices, materials,
mto., which will bo incorporated in the project
~R the caee of remodeling, additions, and alter-
&~ions, including swinu~ing pools, fences, etc.
For new construction the peri, it fee shall be
based on building area. For remodeling, additions,
~d altorations, including swimming pools, fences,
ete.~ the permit fee shall be based upon dollar
value of the proposed work. For fee calculation
purposes, the building area includes~
(Al Total floor under the roof of all stories
(excluding garages, porches, and patios),
(~) One-half of the garages, porches, patios,
~nd ground-covered area.
The sum of the above areas constitute the building
area for per, it fee determination and i~ to be

The fees for such permits shall be based on the

SECTION 2. The necessity for the above amendment to
protect the public interest, creates an urgency and an emergency
for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare,
and requires that this Ordinance shall take effect on the /~~
