ORDINANCE NO. 101A2.1
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING THE LICENSE
FEE CHARGED FOR ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE, ELECTRICAL MASTER'S
LICENSE, ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN'S LICENSE AND MECHANICAL MASTER'S
LICENSE; PROVIDING A RECIPROCAL PROVISION BETWEEN THE CITY OF COPFELL
AND THE CITIES OF DALLAS, LEWISVILLE AND GRAPEVINE; REQUIRING PROOF OF
LICENSE BEFORE THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A SEVERABLIITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY OF FINE NOT
TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE
AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1 LICENSE FEES
From and after the passage of this ordinance the following fees shah be collected
in conection with the issuance of the following license:
Electrical Contractor's License $ 65.00
Electrical Master's License $ 15.00
Electrical Journeman's License $ 5.00
Mechanical Master's License $125.00
SECTION 2. RECIPROCAL PROVISION
The Building Inspector of the City of Coppell may, upon proof of a valid
Electrical Contractor's License, Electrical Master's License, Electrical Journeman's
License or a Mechanical Master's License, issued by the City of Dallas, The City of
Lewisville, the City of Grapevine, or any city which is recognized by the City of Dallas
or the City of Ft. Worth under a reciprocal provision in regard to such licenses, waive
the testing requirments required by the City for the issuance of such license. Provided,
however, proof of license and payment of the license fee to the City of Coppell, shall
be required before any permits are issued.
SECTION 3. REPEALING CLAUSE
All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, inconsistent or in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause or porvision of this ordinance
shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity
of this ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof, other than the part so
decided to be invalid or unconstitutional
SECTION 5. PENALTY CLAUSE
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
sshall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished be a
penalty of fine not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense,
and each and every day such offense is continued shall constitute a new and separate
offense.
SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after the publication of
its caption, as the law in such cases provides.
