AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, AMENDING
THE CITY OF COPPELL "BUILDING CODE," AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE
NO. 100, BY DELETING PAGE 54 DEALING WITH "ALLOWABLE FLOOR AREA
FOR BUILDINGS ONE-STORY IN HEIGHT" AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR
A NEW PAGE 54, SO AS TO CHANGE THE ALLOWABLE FLOOR AREA UNDER
OCCUPANCY ROW F, TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION COLUMNS III N AND IV N,
FROM 9,000 SQUARE FEET TO 12,000 SQUARE FEET; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THIS
ORDINANCE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00)
FOR EACH OFFENSE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. BUILDING CODE (PAGE 54) ENDED.
That the Building Code of the City of Coppell, Texas,
heretofore adopted by Ordinance No. 100, be, and the same is
hereby amended by deleting Page 54 of said adopted Code and
TABLE NO, 5-C--BASIC ALLOWABLE FLOOR AREA FOR BUILDINGS ONE STORY IN HEIGHT
IN FiRE 2ONES NO. I AND NO. 2. FOR BUILDINGS LOCATED IN FIRE ZONE NO. 3 THE BASIC AREA MAY BE INCREASED 33V3 PER CENT

SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY CI~AUSE.
If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause,
phrase or provision of this Ordinance shall be adjudged invalid
or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity
of this Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof,
other than the part so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. PENALTY CLAUSE.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not to exceed the
sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense, and each
and every day such .offense is continued shall constitute a new
and separate offense.
SECTION 4. EMERGENCY CLAUSE.
The fact that the present City regulations are
inadequate to properly protect the public health, safety and
welfare, creates an urgency and an emergency and requires that
this Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after
the publication of its caption as the law in such cases provides.
