and Community Center at
the regular council meeting
July 28.
Before approval, several
Coppell residents again
asked the council not to
approve the rezoning
request. The ordinance will
allow the school to open in
the farmer Christ Our
Savior Lutheran church and

Manara will still have to
meet a number of condi-
tions to open, including
building a bus loop.
"We are working with
the planning department on
the bus loop," said Sadak
Shaik, a member of the
Manara Academy school
board.
Other agreements
school officials agreed to
were a 10-foot "no-play
buffer" that will divide the
children's play area from
residences, and ha~-ing
school events split. over two
nights to prevent too many
cars parked on the streets
around the school.
The concern about traf-
fic problems had been
raised by residents.

opening the school next

The. permit for the
school is a one-year spe-
cial-use permit and must be
renewed yearly.
The council also
approved the bid by Miller
Office Interiors of $65,895
for the supply and installa-
tion of the furnishings for
the senior center.
"This quote will cover
the majority of the furnish-
ings for the center," said
Brad Reid, director of parks
and recreation. "This award
is only for the funuture that
is covered under the Texas
Multiple Schedule con-
tract."
Additional furniture will
be put out on bid for the
center.
